Can someone tell me please if I can use png files in PSP7 and if so how? I thought I had used them before but when I try to use them now I have patchy backgrounds to them. I used to have PSPX but wiped it off my hard drive so maybe that's where I used png files before.
Thanks

If I remember rightly (I had PSP 7 first) you can use png files. On the File menu go to Preferences>File Format Preferences. On the tab for png check the option Enable the Load and save transparency from/to alpha channel. If it already checked then uncheck it instead and see fi png files will open.

Thanks for your reply Jane - I solved the problem yesterday. When I looked through all my scraps of notes etc I saw that I needed to download a patch to enable me to use pngs which I have now downloaded again and installed successfully. I must have deleted it in error or something as I know I used pngs before lol.

A friend has this problem but isn't online at the moment as she has moved so has asked me to sort this out for her!
So please can you tell me where to get the patch?
And anything else which would be helpful as I know nothing about PSP and it will be a case of the blind leading the blind!

Sorry about the time taken to answer but didn't check back once I had sorted out the problem. If you google for Paint shop pro 7 tutorials it's surprising what you will find and they are usually short and easy to follow. Hope this helps.
