Hi Everyone I've started a new thread for the BMC Monthly Ribbon Kit. Please feel free to post your pictures of the kit, along with your ideas, suggestions and general comments. I look forward to supplying you all with gorgeous ribbons in the coming months! :wub:

Our first kit will be released March 2007 and you can find a sneak peek here (http://www.benmadigancrafts.com/page2.htm).
Cost is £12 per kit to include a minimum of 20m of ribbon with coordianting blossoms and brads!

i am becoming addicted to ribbon, which is a bit scary!! i bought a huge box to store it all in, coloured so it wont fade (my current craft space is light and things fade)...i was staggered when i sorted my stash and my box is already full!!!...must try harder to use it!!!

LOL, I'm like that with paper, my box seems to get fuller and fuller somehow and the level never seems to go down. Maybe it's a magic box!

when i first started card making a lady in the shop asked if making your own cards was expensive...the lady in fromt of me said not as long as you ignore the extension, the extra case when you go on holiday, and the beautifu thinns you have to have but will never want to use....i thought she was joking!!!

i took over the conservatory, and thats now mainly storage, the dining room table hasnt seen food in a long time, and now i am planning to clear the garage to give me a permanent work area...

that'll have to do til the kids leave home, and thats light years away!!

i know what you mean about family, a few of my friends are interested, but in looking at what i've done rather than having a go..

a lady i worked with asked me to do her wedding album, having seen my nieces album, and a small album i made for a work friend who was leaving, and at first i was scared of doing it, too much of a responsibility, but she's loved it so far..have done 34 of the 40 pages now..just need inspiration for the last few.. its quite simple and classical, unlike my niece's which is very funky and brightpapers..

next is my parents 50th album, due for septmeber, and today i got a call from a lady at work who'd like me to do a smaller album of her 2 year old for her mum..

my 10 year old son is keen on paper crafts too, went to my card classes with me, and its great for him becuase he has adhd, so helps him to concentrate, and to express himself...so later today we are starting his first LO..he is v excited

i think my folks just think i'm a bit dippy to be my age, and still playing with paper and pritsticks!! i show my mum, but she just says thats nice dear and doesnt even look!

I think I must be really lucky with my family. My dad's an artist so he really appreciates the pleasure you can get from being creative. I only see my parents a few times a year but they always ask to see what I'm working on at the moment and I think I've inspired my mum to start. My husband's happy because "it keep me quiet" :lol: and my mil tore up her old fashioned 'sugar paper' scrapbook when she saw mine as she wants to start over :o Oops! Mind you there'll always be those who don't understand the need to be creative. My husband's friends are completely bemused by it and think I need to go and get myself a life :lol:

No, I don't think they would. It's like the problem with selling hand made cards. People always say, "You know you could sell these" but they don't appreciate just how much time goes into them. A card can take a couple of hours and the most you could get for it is £4.50. I don't think there's many people that would put all that effort, time and creativity in for £2 an hour :(

I think there could be a full or part time job in designing or teaching others how to do it though?

I've made my mind up, this is the avvie for me, I hate pics of me, so one of my LO's will have to do:)

I think the thing DS2 loves about the papercraft is that i let him use everything, we share stash, as long as he respects that its a real privilege, and he is actually very careful, he'll ask before he uses things..(ONLY my papercraft things!, rest of house is a free for all!!)

he came to card classes with me, and he uses everything differently to me, is braver with colour and contrast, and more experimental...he's actually a great critic for me too, and my biggest fan..

Last week he asked to do his own album, and i've bought him a project box (i use a specfic brand of plastic box as they hold 12 * 12 papers so perfectly!) and now he is sifting through pics to decide where to start..
as he does things i'll share, as well as sharing my own once i get some that are my pics to share!!

he is 10, so getting a bit embarassed that people know he likes doing stuff, but none the less loving it at the same time!

i'm a size 24, i hate it, have hated it for ages, and only ever on one side of the camera...but...now i want to scrap me and the kids, and i cant becuase i've spent a decade not being in pictures!!

Mack loves you, and he sees you, not what you see, he sees your hugs, your smiles, your dont do that again face...and i know that becuase thats what my kids now tell me they see, and they mean it.

:lol: Look at me, I pop off to actually do some work for a change and miss one of the most beautiful threads I've seen in a long time :wub:

I always hate having my picture taken and only seem to get captured when I'm a little worse for wear. :P I try not to hide from the camera though as I know how important photographs are. Actually over Christmas I scanned in 100s of old family photographs so that I could fill an album with photographs of the last 80 years of my family, it's really beautiful to just flick through and see us all changing over the generations, the sad thing is that my mil and my sil both hide from the camera, so there are virtually none of them. I just think it's so sad that a huge chunk of my family is missing - it's almost like a chapter has been torn out of my family history :( Not to get too deep or anything :lol::lol: :lol:

Its a very simple book, pages are quite classical, as she is a very reserved person, very conservative...i've only got about 4 pages to go from scratch and about 6 which need finishing touches, hoping to use the silver organza I ordered to make flowers on a couple of pages.

Yes hun I m just resizeing another one and then I ll send it to you,I was hoping I will be able to alter something:wacko: but the only tin I could have done,the ribbon didn tcover it totally,got a card for you so I ll just have to look for somethign else.
