View Full Version : Ribbon Oasis - Monthly Ribbon Kits

I have been asked by a few people why there is no place to discuss the yummy Ribbon Oasis kits - so here we go.....
....our latest ribbon kit went live today - have you got yours yet?
Ribbon Oasis Kits can be found here (http://www.ribbonoasis.co.uk/index.php?cPath=102)
The kits are monthly and are great value for money. They are themed to the ocassions throughout the year and of course offer splashes of great colour combinations to build on your fantastic ribbon stash, to use and hopefully draw inspiration from.
The kits go "live" towards the end of each month and no later than the 1st. The Ribbon Oasis kit is totally optional no need to commit for any long term period - we do bulk purchase most items and there may be kits left over each month (time will tell) these will be left on site as they will be great colour collections to any new customers to the Oasis.
Every third kit has a competition with it and the prize is the the following months kit.
Any questions please feel free to ask - we are always happy to help if we can

I was the very lucky bunny who won the Winter Wonderland competition, and I received my prize this morning, the gorgeous 'Hearts Desire' February kit, and it is so lush. It's absolutely beautiful, even more special than it looks in the photo. I can't wait to start using it, I may even have to dig into it this afternoon! I've still got mountains left from January's kit, there so much in it and it's really great value. Thanks very much to Bea (and Stu!!) for coming up with these seriously yummy stash treats!
Hi everyone
How fab to have this place to chat about all things ribbon and Ribbon Oasis related , very exciting ! Thank you Bea for starting this.
I have to totally and wholeheartedly agree with Bea about the fab value of the kits , and such wonderful choices too . I have been lucky enough to have all 3 of the kits, the latest Hearts Desire one having been sent for DT work, they have all been so jam packed full of gorgeous ribbons and extras, buttons , etc and this months diamonte heart slider is just oh so gorgeous . I think this latest one has been my favourite and I am not usually a 'pink' person ! Oh and the kits go on forever and ever , I just to be able to create so much with them and still have lots left over !
A huge well done to you Pam for winning the 'Winter' comepetition, such a fab LO , I can imagine it must have been a difficult choice for you Bea and Stu as there are loads of lovely entries in the gallery.

I do hope you will share any projects you do with your kit Sprogpaws. It is great to see what creations everyone makes.
Thank you Anita for your vote of confidence - I must agree those little crystal sliders are great, the photo doesn't do them justice with how much they sparkle.

Congratulations Pam on your winning LO, it was stunning, I'm so glad i didn't have to judge the entries, they were all so fab.
These kits are deffinatley value for money, and so scrummy:wub: and each one has something a little bit different in them. I had the first kit, (the Christmas one) and it was so hard to stop stroking and actually produce something for the DT with it. I did ask Bea at the time if it was OK just to send a photo of me stroking it for the gallery. but she made me use it, i had so much fun with it, i still have loads left to stroke though.:D
Have you all seen the fabulous work the DT have done with the latest kit?, they have done loads of gorgeous projects to inspire you. Well done ladies, your work is amazing!

I can see Royal Mail have been on form - I don't have a bad word to say against them.
Purplewillie - I usually drop a note in the sponsors forum and now we have a little place to chat then I will pop a note in here. I also update my signature when the next kit is previewing, giving people lots of chance to see if they like it - I am always happy to reserve kits once people know they like them.
Good to hear you like it Trudy - it would be great to see your creations.
Sprogpaws - you can't stroke these things forever, I can understand some of the heavily paterned decorative ribbons not getting over used as they have to match/compliment the project in hand but hopefully the kit is brimming with ribbons that just need to be used.
I am hoping to get some time to have a play with the ribbons and tin myself this weekend, want to make a special insert/heart book for Stu for valentines day (I guess I really need to make 2 as Melissa our DD would love one as well).

Just ordered my yummy kit!! Can't wait to get it!!
Sprogpaws - it is soooo difficult cutting into those gorgeous ribbons first of all isnt it ... ! I just didnt want to spoil mine ! I must admit though that once I did I was well away and couldnt stop using them.
Bea I hope you get a chance to play with the ribbons and tin soon. That sounds a lovely idea for your heart book, I have now cut some little chipboard hearts , painted them and they have patterned paper one side and silly little notes / sayings on the reverse . Loved the little heart book in the DT gallery. Roughly what date do we get the next sneak peek ? Shouldnt be asking I know as its only just February !
Sarah , you will love it so much , have fun !

Hi there Pam - I am always happy to reserve the kits, if people like what they see after the little peeks. I sub to 3 monthly kits and although sometimes getting something outside of the box or your comfort zone can be good and get the creative juices flowing - I know from experience that a lot just sits there and doesn't get used which is a shame.
Take care

Don't worry it will go live on the 28th but I will give you all prior warning - I always keep a few back anyways - the intention is that some will be left each month for future new customers to maybe buy to increase their ribbon stock or give as presents, I am also working on some ribbons-2-go little mini collections but there just aren't enough hours in the day at the moment.
Bea - its absolutely gorgeous, cant wait ! Love the sound of the ribbons to go collections too , what a great idea .

Hi all! I was having another play with the new Purpilicious kit last night, it's the ultimate in lushness really! I've come up with a few things already but thought I'd ask if anyone would like any specific ideas for next month? I'm working on mothers day gift ideas and I've done a ribbon storage idea too but since we have this thread thought it would make sense to see what ideas people would like to see? I can do project sheets as I've done before so just shout out and let me know. :D
buzzybea
16-02-2007, 08:20 PM
Thank you Leo - your project sheets are BRILL. I will certainly have a think - ribbon storage is always good for inspiration. I have just organised some of mine into grip seal bags and punched holes in the bags then put them onto book-rings as I hate wrapping them round the ribbon wrap cards for long term storage (I don't like the creases) and I hate to say (or do I) it but housework is not always at the top of my priority list so I would hate my ribbons to get a bit of dust on them - the bags stop them creasing so much and stop them getting dusty. Mind you the organised look of the ribbon wraps and prettiness of the the embroidery thread cards do make them look pretty.
Melissa is off out for a couple of hours tomorrow so I am hoping to get a chance to have a play but I still have lots of pink ribbons floating round me and have just got some real girly papers from the Reminisce range so I should really use some more of the hearts desire kit. I promised Melissa a LO called Candy Kisses so I need to do this before I cut into the purple ones.

Still have oddles of ribbons left, so hoping to get a couple more projects done, i have more time now as our foster children have just left for their new adoptive home :(, what better way is there to cheer me up than playing with lush ribbons! Must try not to make them soggy with my tears though.

I have started making a purple mini book and I have a really big piccie of Melissa (A4 size - I had to try my new photoprinter out) she has a purple fur jacket on so I just need little time to get to use these purple ribbons.

Good to hear RM are still working hard today. Pam thanks for the mention on your blog
Hope you have a nice surprise waiting for you when you get home Sarah
I have just worn out the camera taking piccies of new ribbons but I haven't got the ribbons that arrived last week uploaded to the site yet, looks like I will have a busy weekend and may not get time to play - but who knows I will try and get some of these lush purple ribbons used.

I don't want to mention any items in particular, purely because I fell in love with so many, I am completely buzzing with inspiration!!!
Well done all of you, you are awesome!

I'll be 39 this year (shhh don't tell anyone) and our DS will be 11 on the 4th April, so i don't really have a Bday anymore, as he gets his cards up first and mine have to go in the dinning room. I'm trying to convinve hubby we should go next year, even though we are skint!!! Would love to be going to Florida too! but I work in a school and so have to take holidays during school holidays and we just can't afford it. The up side is that I do get a load of holidays when I can just do scrapbooking! We are off to the Lake District and Peak District in our caravan this year - looking forward to it, but obviously not on a par with Florida - especially when you think of the shops over there too! Hope you have a lovely time Tracey.

We ahve been taking on board allthe comments regarding kits and we know how people are disappointed that they can't get or then they get and it is another purchase that doesn't get used so we will be changing the format of the kits from July to just bring great ribbons at great prices and give more flexibility on items on the website - so watch this space
We have a winner of the May "Marvellous Mono kit" on the home page here (http://www.ribbonoasis.co.uk/index.php)
The May kit has gone live this afternoon here (http://www.ribbonoasis.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=1679)
Take care

Hi Anita - hope you are well. Lots of more new ribbons ordered - I just have to try and keep organised otherwise we would drown in ribbons. My craft space has been overtaken but I am determined it will be clear and have space for me to craft again within the next few weeks.
I have loads of ideas buzzing round and no time or space to work.
I have a half finished small canvas using the Spring Fresh kit and also a FAB accordion book in a box (all green and yellow) - all made with origami folds - it was the demo on crafttv a couple of weeks ago. I will show them when I have got them finished.

oooh bea you've got me thinking too now, mini book good idea. i saw a lay out in a magazine titled 5 steps to catisfaction, i just loved the word catisfaction it sums them up so well, you have cats you know what i mean. so i'm thinking of a mini book titled CHARLIES TIPS TO CATISFACTION.
Thanks xx:D

Thank you Leo - not sure why (probably cos I'm technically challenged at times) the gallery wasn't uploaded properly onto the website. I have now corrected this and the whole of May's Marvellous mono gallery can be viewed here (http://www.ribbonoasis.co.uk/gallery.php?cid=17)
I love how everyone altered the tins and I am the lucky recipient of Leo's FAB tag.
The small peek piccie of June is on the homepage if anyone is interested in having a look - here (http://www.ribbonoasis.co.uk/index.php)

Hi Anita, hope you are well, i had the pleasure of playing with two of the new mini mixes, and they are lush, i'm sure as with everything Bea puts together, they'll go down very well.

Hi there - the mini mixes are live - you can see them here (http://www.ribbonoasis.co.uk/index.php?cPath=102) - we just dissappointed so many people who wanted the large selections - this way we will get lots more loaded onto the site so there will always be a selection to tempt and tease. With the printer arriving yesterday I lost my focus a little on the mixes but lots more will be added over the next few weeks.
Ahhh Stu is Stu he has a funny sense of humour - at least what he puts in the newsletter is printable (I hope). He teases me something rotten about the orders I place and then how I oooh and ahhh when a box arrives!
Take care
Bea
Hi Tracy
I'm good thanks , hoping you are too , I know it must seem like ages ago but I dont remember asking if you had a good holiday ! Yes I bet the mini mixes will be very popular, fab choices of colours Bea , very lovely and very summery! I look forward to receiving my order in due course !
Bea - have loads of fun playing with your new toy , will look forward to seeing what you will be able to offer with it. I will look out for the new mini mixes too , great idea to do the little selections.
I do like Stu's sense of humour the newsletters always make me giggle !

Yes, Anita we had a fabby holiday, thanks , nice of you to remember, but we had no internet for almost 6 weeks when we returned, so you probably didn't know when i got back. I have only done one LO from the holiday snaps, mainly because i have a 2 1/2 year old girl keeping me busy at the mo, and i've lost all my creativity by the time she goes to bed.
But i did manage to make her a little something for he room with one of the new mini kits, she's a little Princess.
Glad you did Tracy! Oh no that must have been horridwith no internet though upon your return ..... !
Ahhh is the little un another foster kiddie ? Have the others settled into their new homes OK do you know? I can well imagine the little princess is keeping you very occupied and worn out ....bless her !
Take care. xxx

Yes, another little foster kiddie, she's gorgeous!
The others are doing very well, we've been to visit them, and we are meeting up with them again at Legoland in the first two weeks of the summer holidays.
Ahhh bless re the little girl you have at the moment. I am so pleased that you have been able to visit the others as I remember you were sooooo upset to see them go , naturally.... Have a fab time at Legoland all of you.

Thanks Tracy - yes we are just doing the mini mixes - we do send out a newsletter each month (well I say newsletter it is just really an update on what is happeneing and what is expected the following month. You can sign up for the newletter when you register on the website or if you don't receive it you can change your preferences when you log on
I promise you won't get inundated with emails the maximum would be two a month.
Which reminds me I had better start reminding Stu to start the next one, then it might arrive before the end of the month
