I am using PSE5 and I have done a LO and saved it as psd file. I now want to save as a jpeg so that I can resize etc but it keeps saying there is a programme error. :( This LO was more complicated than previous LOs and have used more things - texturising etc. Do you think this could be the problem as I have saved previous LOs as jpegs with no problem.
Any help appreciated.

It shouldn't be anything to do with how complex your layout is, in theory. Hhhhmmmm, have you tried flattening the image (Layer>Flatten image) before you save it as a jpeg? It might just confuse it enough to work! Also try shutting everything and restarting, if you haven't already done so - might just be a little quirk somewhere!

I did try flattening it and that didnt work either. Also tried altering just an ordinary photo to print out and that wouldnt save either so I think you may be right. I gave up for the night and closed the computer down and hopefully it may be alright today. Otherwise I can see us having to reinstall the programme. Thanks .

I have had to reinstall the program twice due to things going wrong and not working, but can't find any help as to why. Just a blip on the program I think. They were working fine one minute and then just didn't want to work the next. One was importing pdf files, and I can't remember now what the second was!

Glad its not just me then. Mine still not working. Tried reinstalling the Cd over what is already there but that didnt work. Have taken off bits Ild downloaded from the internet in case that was the problem and have also joined the PSE forum. Got 13 pages of stuff from them on how to try and sort it so leaving that for OH to do today while I watch tennis!

I can however save as pse and then put it into paint and save as a jpeg so the problem seems just to be saving as a jpeg. Mind you the programme still wants to shut down after that because of an error.

I have upgraded from pse 2 to 5 and have had this problem a couple of times usually if I have other folders open at the same time, try closing everything else before you save, it happened to me when I was trying to print.

We have a solution :D
When launching editor press shift control and alt together. This brings up a pop up window which asks if you want to delete settings. Answer yes. Did this and can actually save in jpeg format now.:D
Dont know what we actually did by deleting settings  Have asked will let you know if we get a reply.
