Just making this into a 'Sticky' for our Valentine Cards...
Just wondering if anyone else has made a start on their valentine's card/s?
I had a cracking idea for one for my boyfriend...

Hi stressed, have been trying for a few days to do a card similar to this but with a simple rectangle cut out and I can't for the life of me work out how to do it, does it work along the same lines as welded words / shapes?
GRATEFUL FOR ANY HELP!

Looking at all the samples just on this thread there's certainly some very talented people out there!! Very inspirational!!
I've made these (http://scrapbookingcastle.co.uk/store/index.php?main_page=)on the home page of my shop. I have to do quite a lot for various outlets and wanted something really quite easy to do but not boring. I think these are probably some of the most 'fun' ones I've done. I really enjoyed myself.

Ah thanks - I must admit though - I got REALLY stuck on how to use them without the card looking a bit washed out! I really wanted to use the heart patterned paper but it would have been too much with a red heart. It took me ages to work out what to do to get the right effect. I thought the red stood out well - got there in the end!

Wow Linda - Just love your card - it's fab  Love the heart and wings too! How did you do that?

The heart and wings were Tim Holtz grungeboard covered in the Ranger Crackle Paint, the idea came from Tim Holtz grungeboard, he made a tag using these too, and I kinda lifted it!!

I finished my DH's card tonight. I must have looked through 30 magazines for inspiration, but couldn't find anything I could adapt for my stash! So frustrating. Anyway, this turned out plain but couldn't find anything I liked in the shops either and wow are they expensive!

Another card HERE (http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=150520&cat=501) special order from my friend, to give her hubby.
oooooh Linda love your Timmy inspired card
I went with hearts and wings too, can't get enough of them at the mo, slave to fashion me :D
here's mine:
went in the post yesterday, he might get it today, I'm nervous as hell as we've only been going out for 5 weeks (edited to add, it's actually 6 and a half weeks, I just worked it out, doesn't time fly when you're having fun? :D)
[quick how-it-was-done:
ecoline background over perfect pearls (makes it all nice and shimmery)
heart and wings painted with acrylics then dusted with copper pearl ex when the paint was still tacky
"valentine" cut out using a Cricut to let the black card blank show through
finished off with a bit of my precious 7 gyppos gaffer tape (I tell you, I must be smitten with this man, I LOVE my gaffer tape and am usually reluctant to use it on anything cos I'm scared of using it all up!)]
off to look back at all the others....

Loves the cards on here they are so inspirational.
Amy! love the heart marking on your dog! what a PERFECT photo for a card, clever, witty and so personal to the two of you. I couldn't see it in your gallery though.
Loads of the other cards are fab too, some really clever ones done on the old Robo
Proper_Pixie...I love love LOVE your luckenbooth stamp ....where did you get it? I want!!!
Curias..love the way you have made the heart with chipboard scrolls, clever, and looks beautiful
Maffie love the felt heart on yours
EllePiggo (great name lol), love both of yours too, chipboard always looks so effective, I should use it more
Tracy love the blacks and greens on yours
Germgirl, love yours too
Sorry for any I haven't mentioned specifically, they are all fab
lots of lucky blokes out there, here's hoping they appreciate all this hard work, eh? :D
(mine just rang, only left for work 20 mins ago, so I would expect the post to have been, but he didn't say anything, so either it hasn't turned up, or he hates it :) I'm hoping the former :D .....it's my mum's birthday today and I know when she was alive her birthday cards often turned up a day late as the post office seemed to process all the V-Day cards together to arrive in a batch, and her birthday cards would get caught up in the that, so fingers crossed he'll get it tomorrow.....)

Flo, my post comes anytime from around 10.30 until 12.30, so his post may not have turned up yet....
Love your card, I feel the same way as you about using some of my bits as I dont want to use them all up!!! lol (Guess we could always buy more, but it just isn't the same)...
Flo did I see you mention you came from Buckhurst Hill, I used to live in Barkingside and went to school in Chigwell, and Youth Club at Buckhurst Hill, in fact my first DH came from BH.
Yes, Essex girl and proud, me :D
I went to school in Loughton, and lived in Buck Hill down near the Monkhams Inn and Roding Valley station
Left to go to Uni though, and never went back
I just went to look at your profile to see if I could find a birthday, in case we went to yoof club together :) Couldn't find a birthdate - but, do you really have 10 kids???? wow!

Catherine, what a great card he made! I wish my DH would try it... he's always interested and asks lots of questions, but thinks he's too 'unartistic'. I tell him it's not about being artistic, it's about having fun and letting your imagination go....
And Joey73, what a fab card! I popped that into my favourites folder right away.
So much talent!

My OH pilfered some of my card stock last night, and hid in the kitchen for about an hour. He had brought some scrap paper home from work which had very interesting coloured designs on and hand cut 20 hearts and stuck them on a card, it looks very interesting. He also bought me a box of lush goodies titled True Love. This may not sound a lot, but the other week when we walked past Lush he said he cant go in the shop because all the smells make him sneeze, I said how much I loved Lush stuff but hadn't bought any in years and I know he went in with my son and bought it himself
Lush makes me sneeze too! I sympathise with your fella :) Just walking past it sets me off.
Lovely cards everyone
happy V-Day to one and all

Happy Valentine's Day eveyone..mines on my blog along with his breakfast!! lol
Love the breakfast Jasmine!
I finally made one for dh this morning! There are more pics of the detail on my blog
awww @ the breakfast :)
yet more lovely cards
this attachment isn't a card, but a pressie
I can't take the credit for the artwork itself, that's a piece from a wonderful artist called Pam Glew from Brighton, I love her stencil/spraypaint art
But I altered a plain beech frame to kind of match/set off the piece - with a short story from an old copy of Jackie magazine, paints, copper leafing, and gloss varnish.
To be handed over at dinner tonight, I hope he likes it, I think he will, he has some nice original pieces of art already at home but nothing upstairs, and he was saying the bedroom walls looked a bit bare, so.... :)
I'm just waiting for the varnish to dry so I can wrap it up, you can't beat faffing about at the last minute :)
