I've scanned my scans (!) from pregnancy and tried to print them out using an online photoshop (don't have the means to print my own photos) but because they are small images and the smallest most of these places print is 6x4, the images are pretty poor. I'd even tried putting 2 scan images together but the photos are still poor.

I'd thought about taking the photo with another to one of these machines and scanning it with a 6x4 image behind it so I can get a true size replication and crop the excess, but any ideas about how else I can reproduce these would be much appreciated.

Zahra - I have a epson picture mate printer. You could e-mail me your pics...can print out at 3.5x2 size approx ( ie 2 smaller photos that would fit on a 6x4 size sheet ), so IRL probably about the size of a real scan picture.
If you want me to try it for you, I'm more than happy to give it a go.

eta : Just read your post again, it sounds like you may have already tried this size??

Hi Kathy, that would be great, if you wouldn't mind having a go.....not sure where I've saved them so will scan again and email to you, thanks so much!Niki, just checked and it was photobox that I tried with, still seemed too big

I got some done at 7 x 5 online it said the image would be poor but it was great. I dont think the sites recognise what the pics actually are and probably think its a fuzzy black and white pic, which I suppose it is. Had others done since as clarity was very good

Online photo printing sites measure how good the quality it by seeing how many pixels wide x high the image is, if you rescan the image but set your scanner to scan at 300 dots per inch (dpi) you should get a better quality scan (more pixels and therefore clearer detail) and this will enable you to have the reprints bigger. Alternatively as suggested above Photobox offer 5x3.75" prints or various sized mini prints.

Good luck,
Mel
