It was her class that I taught at the 12 hour crop.
Re your pm, not sure yet who will be teaching or what the class will be based on yet - but if you keep checking out this thread then when I do I will update here :)

Dibby
05-10-2006, 11:49 AM
Be prepared ... it's her birthday tomorrow and she'll officially be a teenager ... wonder what all those tantrums have been over the last couple of years LOL.
She should have birthday money left next week, so make sure she has her own list please, no joining on mine this time!
have you got room for me Linz?
Having been to your shop t'other day and realising you're really not very far away at all, I'm kind of tempted to join you....

Hi Sarah - oh yes, do come! I'm trying to get hold of Rita to let her know about it, but I know she has puter problems.
I've got her mobile # somewhere if you need it - PM me if so
Certainly do Sarah, would be nice to see Rita too if she can make it :)
The crop is in the hall that is just across the road from the shop so no extra to travel :)
Dibby

i.e class,challage?????
Yes Debbie as far as I know Penny is coming :)
Right this crop we will be doing an exploding box :) I'm not going to provide a kit for it so there will be no charge for the class.
You'll need either 4 pieces of 12 x 12 cardstock, can be the same colour or co-ordinating, or 3 pieces of 12 x 12 cardstock and 1 sheet of heavyweight paper, preferably double sided.
If you want to put in photo's then they need to be small ones 4 x 4 is the absolute largest size and to be honest I would say 3 x 3 or smaller would be better.
There won't be a challenge this time, but I will put up a prize for raffle with the money going to Breast Cancer.
Don't forget to wear something pink :)
Dibby
10-10-2006, 08:18 PM
Excellent, would love to know how to make those.
eeek - I don't own anything pink! I'll attempt to improvise :) :) :)
Linz - is it OK if I just watch the exploding box class from the sidelines while I'm getting on with something else? It's just that I have a couple of CJ entries I really have to get done this weekend, and I doubt I'll have time to do anything else....
(oh - and also - a warning - my other half doesn't crawl out of his pit at the weekends till around 11am, so I'll not be able to make it to yours until just before noon - unless my mother in law can be persuaded to commence Connor watching early for me...)

Thanks linz,
Great to see everyone, hope everyone got home safely:D
I had a lovely time today - thank you all esp. Linz :) I'm certain I'll be back.
I'm not really as vicious as Alison the Aussie thinks I am, honest, I just have a slightly warped sense of humour
Have been to have a good nose around your bloggy Rachel - saw the 7G comment - brill! Love the canvas you did for your dad - and sorry to hear of your loss.
You do some lovely work. That Room 101 CJ was stunning. I hope the other newbies in your group aren't too intimidated by it!!!
Linz - I hope your mojo comes back soon :)
Lovely to meet you at last Debbie (although it felt like I knew you already) - and Shirley to my right and everyone else too :)
I never did have any cake.....next time.....

14-10-2006, 07:46 PM

of course it was - you and your 'girls' LOL
soz - I knew I'd get in trouble for not mentioning everyone by name - nobody wants to be the "everyone else" :)
I just thought it polite to make particular mention of my immediate neighbours (and Debbie and Linz who I know already anyway)
am I forgiven?!

I can't come on the 11th, as I have a pal coming to stay that weekend

That's a shame Sarah - the one after will be a 12 hour one and will be on 2nd December :)
blimey - I don't think I could get a pass out for that long (but I'll work on it) - what are the start/end times? 12 noon till midnight I might get away with, 6am to 6pm probably not!
LOL - the 12 hour ones (we do one every 3 months) are 10am to 10pm :)

Thanks all for a fab day, really enjoyed it, the cakes, the company, the shopping. The work you ladies were producing was awesome, I feel very inspired now.
Must get me some of those doorknobs Rach. Was trying to explain them to DH this evening and all I got was blank looks.
I think I had a bit of sugar overload today, was craving something savoury when I got in to try and balance it out a bit, will I learn next time? Very unlikely! Can't believe you didn't get to have any cake Sarah, you should have said and you could have had the last piece of choccy cake that Hannah wolfed down.
Need to go an earn some brownie points to come to the next one (and some money for DD to go shopping).

Wow - look at you Penny with your sporty little car!
Thanks for those links Rach, off for a browse.
I'm so sorry, I know this is puerile
but....
I just realised that on Rachel's link....
she searched on 'knob'!
phnar phnar!
oh, and it gets better, on the next link she searched on 'knocker'
I feel like I'm in a Carry On film :) :) :)
but alas, after much hilarity, the site doesn't seem to have the one little fastening I've been trying to find - see the little gold thing at the bottom of this page:
http://www.greenpepperpress.com/cgi-bin/itsmy/go.exe?page=19&domain=1&webdir=greenpepperpress
"found in most craft stores" my bottom!
have any of you ever seen one of these on your travels? I'd like to buy a bucket full of them!

knobs and knockers *snigger*
Now this isn't going to help at all, I had a silver one of those clasps Sarah, and can I remember where it was from - no!
I think actually it was part of a kit we did ages ago, will ask the person concerned where she got them.
oooh - silver would do - any colour would do - my trusty Krylon pens could take care of the rest :)
If you can track them down for me I'll luv ya forever, not that I don't already of course
double post - doh!
I was excited!

Lolololol! :D There is (or used to be) a shop in NZ called Knobs & Knockers. How do you like that :D
And I'd like you to know that I actually searched for door handle first but it didn't find them all. So there.
Dibby
16-10-2006, 11:08 AM
Okay, they are called Norwegian clasps (apparently) and she got them from a habadashers in Swansea town centre. Will have a look see if I can find them on line now we know what they are called.

Failing that I'll see if I can get any from any of the charm suppliers I use :)
oooh Debbie - that one you found on eBay is lovely, not the one I'm after for my door stamp, but lovely in its own right regardless
Linz, if you did manage to track down those exact ones on my link, I'd love YOU forever too!
