Hi Leanne,

How about trying to download a trial version of a software package to see how you get on, or even try a few out to see what sort of thing you are looking for. There is a link in the UKS digital library here (http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=215&Itemid=35), or go to the home page and select digital scrapping to get links to the info, tutorials and loads more.

Personally i use Photoshop CS, but that is only because i already knew how to use it and owned it already, its a very comprehensive program, but that also can mean its not so easy to learn how to use, and of course its very expensive. Photoshop Elements (PSE) is a somewhat cutdown version of Photoshop, but contains all the features you would probably need.

I also use Xara as i won a copy in the UKS CC. Its very good for beginers, simple to use, but i find it does not do everything i want it to do. I know a trial version of this is available.

Another option you might like to consider is GIMP, this is apparently comparable to Photoshop, but it completly free. My boyfriend uses this all the time for webdesign.

HTH.

Im a huge PSE fan, but that is because that is what i use. I always kind of refer to PSE as a cheaper version of Photoshop Creative. I have been using my program for over a year and so far i havn't run in to anything that i need the bigger program for.

You can get a free trial of it from www.adobe.com and take it for a test drive. You should also be able to purchase it for less than 60£ where PSCS is several hundred. That was the decider for me.

Alot of people use different programs and they are all partial to the one they use. So my advice would be get the trials take them for a test drive then purchase the one that fits best
