Could anyone tell me how I *slice* photos or cut them into bits and rearrange them digitally? I have seen some lovely layouts and would like to give them ago. I have a few *easy peasy* digi programmes and also paintshop which I am having problems fathoming. I also have photoshop knocking around somewhere which is not installed as yet. Is there a simple way to slice pics? Til now I have *drawn* lines on them to slice them!!!!!

I used a ready made action from www.panosfx.com its called a synthesis technique. they have the same action for photoshop. (i use photoshop elements)

Hi Jess.

I looked at this and tried to download. It downloaded fine but then I couldnt get it into photoshop (I also use elements). I am really looking for *how to* just cut straight slices into photos so that they look as if they have been pulled apart if that makes sense ... or even like a kind of mosaic with a square grid. I need help!

I don't have Photoshop Elements, but if it is similar to Photoshop, you could use the rectangular marquee tool to "cut" squares from the photo and paste each square into a new layer...so that you can move them around and manipulate them?

That is what i would do also. I would have my photo open in a window, select the rectangular marquee tool, select my area, then click my move tool and move that section of photo. then go thru it again for the next selection.

The panos fx actions are a little bit tricky. You have to make sure you install them in the correct place, make sure you read the readme that comes with the download. but you also have to erase the cache for the actions so it will recognize the new action.
