Went to a bookshop yesterday and while perusing for a scrapping book found a little gem called Altered Books Workshop by Bev Brazelton which I just had to buy! Have been thinking about giving them a go and seeing these great ideas in this book has inspired me! I didn't think I would be able to do it but this book has made me realise I can give it a go! Anyway just thought I would share!

I got this book a couple of months back, very inspiring, isn't it? Not yet had a go though, am waiting till I sort out a permanent craft area for myself, rather than the fold out table I have to use now!

Have just ordered this book from Amazon (DH is getting it me for a Christmas pressie) and the 2 reviews on it there were quite negative :( so I was glad to find this thread again and read what you girls had said about it. I'm not allowed to see it till 25th Dec!!!!

read this thread .... ordered book....... received book...... can't put it down!!!

Thanks for this thread, I agree with Sue, if I'd come across this book in a search the reviews would have put me right off

Well at last I could open my book!!!

I've spent all Boxing day afternoon & evening buried in it ...you're right..

it's simply fabulous! The instructions are so simple & clear. Now i'm

raring to go..but it seems that I need some glazes?

I had 2 other books on altering books..but this one is by far the best:D

I got this for myself as a birthday present yesterday even before I saw this thread and isn't it to die for! read through last night and loving her style and work.

would anyone be interested on a round robin altered book thingy - bit like a cj but using an altered book?

Hi Helen I want to start a new book soon as I have not done any altered book pages for ages:)

Would you like to share techniques:)

When I have done books in the past I just went with the flow but after reading a new book I got for christmas called collage lost and found I want to do a book to include personal pictures ie of my Mum :)

I have got a new book ready and hope to plan it more ie say I do a double page about my Mum I want to include things she liked.

I have got some plastic bags to collect things for each page.

ie Mum

2 or 3 small photos of her
A Bingo sheet (she loved it)
I thought I would do a tag with her dob star sign etc
I have a silver 3d with her year ie 1920 on so I am going to look for some more images of the 1920's.

Sorry if I am waffling:rolleyes:

Linda, I've been looking at 'Collage, Lost & Found'....do you recommend it??

I got 'Collage discovery Workshop' for Christmas..and it's absolutely fab!!

It's in the same series as the Altered Books workshop one. I think they're a brilliant pair of books.:D

I must look out for the one you have:)

She uses a lot of personal photos which I think is a great idea as then your work would be totaly your own:)
