Hi,

I have a photo on the computer of my grandmother's sister, which I think I may have sharpened a bit too much. It looks slightly grainy. How can I undo this effect & return the photo back to a softer, more natural look ? Unfortunatley I can't find the original photograph, so this copy is all I have to work on. Thanks, Angela

PS My ptotoshop capabilities are limited, so please make your instructions easy !!!!!

On my software there is a 'soften' feature - PM me if you want to email me the photo!

There is a piece of software called 'Noiseware' (http://www.imagenomic.com/) - you can download a free 'community' version which has limited features. If you open up a photo in it and run the software, it helps get rid of any noise that sharpening/editing may have caused. I swear by it!!

In Photoshop, under "filter" you can use Gausian Blur or something similar...and you can adjust the amount you want to "blur"

I've emailed you a couple of versions, Angela. Let me know if any of them are OK.
