View Full Version : paint Shop Pro v Photoshop Elements
I am trying to decide which one to buy and have had a free trial of Paintshop Pro and have now downloaded Photoshop Elements trial. Elements seems much slower and more complicated. Is it worth persevering with? What is teh extra /better functionality as it does not seem to be anywhere near as intuitive as Paintshop Pro?
if i were choosing i would definitely go for paintshop pro ,it is far more advanced than elements ,especially if you have the noodle to use it ,i have just got elements as its my first software for this and i plan to get to know it first as its supposed to be easier to learn with and then advance to psp
I think Paintshop Pro is more basic than photoshop elements , it's certainly simpler and cheaper? Was just wondering what elements has and is it worth investing in in terms of time plus the small extra cost?
BTT Can anyone help as need to order soon?

It really depends on your computer savvy to be honest... I agree with you totally, PS is far less intuitive than other programs, but once you've got your head round it, PS is untouchable by other graphics programs IMHO (although I would add that I have the full version, not Elements). It depends on whether you want to invest the time and effort to learn it - because it will take a fair amount of time, whatever your level of computer skills.

pse all the way - I got mine for £6 on ebay
 I'd go for PSP - got PSP9 on ebay for £9.99. I tried Photoshop elements on a trial copy & didn't like it - went back and upgraded to PSP9.

Photoshop without a doubt - the best retouching software ever...takes a while to learn but is well worth it :)
