Been into the Reading branch today, and they are discontinuing the book rings. At the moment they are reduced to 20p a pack (of 10)

I was born in Caversham, but live in Woodley now. There are quite a few of us on UKS who live in this general vicinity! Broad Street Mall, pah!!

I'm not hiding :lol:. I've been scrapping for a year now - I live in Woodley now but come from Caversham - just down the road from you!

I'm a Berkshire girl - born in Chavey Down, but moved to Reading when I was 11 and apart from a few years living nearer to work, been around here ever since. Where did you go to school, Jules - although I'm a good deal older I think (am older than most people I know really!)?

If anyone really wants/needs a pack and can't get one I could probably part with a couple, just pm me :)
They also had carry portfolios similar to the Papermania ones (is it?), just right for 12x12 papers, for £1.99 in either clear or red :)

I went to Caversham Primary and Highdown and my parents still live in Caversham. I left secondary school after A levels in 1981. You can work out my age from that!! :lol:

I went to the Holt in Wokingham - and left in 1972 after A levels. Told you I was old!

Cuthbertsons, yes, don't recognise the name Druce.

It's possible I know you by sight, you know, my parents live in Oakley Road. We may well have been at Highdown together! My sister was 2 years below me, so you would definitely have been at school with her.

Arrrrrr! 'Tis a village, you see! Lots of incomers, though, these days.

You'd have to give me a Cuthbertson 'boy' name, I have a dreadful memory for names, though I would know them instantly if I saw them. I think their mother's name was Joy, though I could be wrong. I'd know one or two around age 42-44.

I drive by your house every time I visit my parents - if you spot a bright blue Yaris with a blonde woman singing her head off and driving too fast - that is me!

Thanks to this thread I actually went in The Butts Centre on Saturday (I've only lived round here for 10 years & I think of it as that!). Had a good mooch round a couple of the shops in there but amazingly didn't buy anything! Handy to know they're there though!
