Hi all,
I'm looking into possibly getting a digital SLR, and was wondering if anybody could recommend one that it reasonably priced (I'm looking more lower-end of the SLR budget to be honest!), yet still produces a fantastic photo.
Any advice or comments would be much appreciated, thanks in advance,

The Nikon D50's a great option at £399 (inc. lens) or the Canon 350D at £489 (inc. lens). I don't have any personal experience of either of these, but I'm sure some owners will be glad to give you some opinions on them.

I have the Nikon D50 and just am in love with it. What I found when I was looking to make a purchase was to visit your local camera shop and get the feel of them. I was originally at the Canon 350 but when I held it, it just didn't feel right in my hands.

I have had the Canon 350D for nearly a year now, never had a problem with anything on it and hadn't heard of any sensor problems either......love the smallness of the body and the ease of use...would recommend it.

I've just purchased a Nikon D50, got a great deal on the net:) Camera and lense for £384 and they were doing a world cup promotion where you got a free 1gb memory stick with any DSLR. I'm pleased because I priced one up yesterday at just over £440 with exactly the same spec, memory card wasn't free though!

I tried out the Nikon D50 and I thought it was fab, and I would have bought it only my dad was buying me the camera so I went up to a D70s lol.
The D50 is nice and lightweight I thought :)
Check out your local Jessops though, as we got a fantastic deal - if you find it cheaper on the internet (must be a UK site though, I used Amazon.co.uk as my example) and they'll match the price and give you 10% of the difference back! Then you have the peace of mind of being able to go into the shop if you have any questions or problems :)

i have the Canon 350D and love it! I tested the Nikon d70 but I only have small hands and it felt too big. The Canon was smaller and lighter which was perfect for me.

ooh I had the FujiS7000 and absolutley loved it. Damn! how I miss it  I can't shake the sound it made when it fell to the ground:(
Super pix quantity so crop and enlarging was a treat without losing out on Quality.
