Last week my mam got a battery operated mini sewing machine,a hand held sewing thing, battery operated scissors and a case with cotton bobbins in for £3.99 from the X Catalogue shop in Stockton.
A friend rang me today and she got the same thing for 99p today. Now that's a bargain.
There is a space to take an adapter.

I bought a battery operated mini sewing machine, from the pound shop, just last week. Ideal for stitching onto paper, without ruining my expensive machine.

It seemed to be stitching fine, don't know how long the batteries will last but could use rechargeable ones? It doesn't come with batteries so they would cost more than the machine!!!

sounds fab. Can i just ask, was that "poundland" or just a random pound shop? Just checking whether i should make a special trip out!

what a good idea, I never tried the stitching thingy on my pages as it seemed too much bother to haul out the machine, but this sounds just the thing - hope they have them in my local pound shop! What is the ASDA tin thing? What do you do with a tin lunchbox????

Is this a hand-held or a mini sewing machine?
They have the mini sewing machines in an ex catalogue store here, about £3 I think, but they don't look very good. I have a big one but if I could find a decent hand held that would be fab! :)

Always Ultra were being sold in metal tins recently. Also in the back to school range they sell metal suitcase style tins for about £3. You cover them in paper, embelish with anything & everything & use to store whatever you choose. Take a look in the gallery, search for tins & you'll see lots of suggestions.

Natalie the one in the X Catalogue shop had the mini machine that you would put on a table and a hand held one, think i remember them advertising them for taking curtain hems up whilst they are hanging? It's worth £1 to try it

Paula, my DD just recently got a proper sewing machine in good nick from Freecycle(.co.uk) - for free, natch! From what I hear, the little ones are really not reliable - another case of you get what you pay for (unless it's for free!!!  )

Thank you Sonia. Not been in to Asda recently but will have a look in gallery to see them decorated. I tend to buy little boxes in International, they are quite cheap too. I also got a little suitcase (lunchbox size) in TK Maxx for £2 recently, it was reduced in their toy department.
