do you mean you have downloaded a quick page, sometimes called a plopper page....and all you want to do is add your photo and your text?

if this is what you want to do....then the following should work okay

1. Open plopper/quick page in photoshop

2. Open photo you want to use in photoshop

3. Size the windows of these two items in photoshop so that you can see both of them (doesn't matter if one overlaps the other)

4. With the MOVE tool selected (this is the top right tool on the toolbar which pops up vertically to the left of your workspace) click and hold the mouse key on the photo and drag it across so that it is on the same work area as the plopper page. This will put the photo on top of the plopper page.

5. To the bottom right of your work area you will see a tool bar with 3 tabs titled LAYERS, CHANNELS, PATHS. You need to make sure LAYERS is selected (usually is by default) and you will see two layers for this project. Click on the layer showing your photo (which will be called Layer 1) and without letting the mouse click go just drag it below the Layer 0 (sometimes loads as background). The other way to achieve this is to make sure the photo layer is selected (it goes darker when it is selected) and press CTRL [ (this is the symbol next to the letter )

6. Now move the photo around until you have it placed under the plopper where u want it.

Now to add your own text to the plopper/quick page you need to do the following

1. Click the text tool (this is located on the vertical toolbar to the left of your work space and is represented by a T). Clicking on the text tool will
3. From the horizontal toolbar across the top of the workspace you will see a drop down menu allowing you to choose the typeface you want to use and to the right of this is a box allowing you to choose the size you want and further to the right again is a small rectangle box which allows you to choose the colour for your text. Double click on that and pick a colour.

4. As soon as you click on the work\area, photoshop knows you are adding text and automatically adds another layer to your project so that you are not working directly on the plopper or photo. You can see this if you look in the layers paletter (bottom right of the screen) and you will see a new layer 2

5. Just type your text in and that's it. if you can't see the text it may be because the text layer is not at the top of your 3 layers. Make sure the text layer is highlighted in the layer pallete and press CTRL ] to move it up above the other layers

Hope some of this helps....but if not come back and I'm sure someone can explain it clearer than I can

Hi..me again

To make your photo fit the frame/opening.....

1. Click on the layers pallet and select the layer showing the photo (bottom right of your workarea)

2. Select EDIT (from the menu across the top) TRANSFORM (from the menu that drops down) SCALE (from the menu that flys out)- the picture will now have dotted lines around it and you can click and hold the mouse and make the photo smaller or larger as necessary.

Once you have the photo to the size you want you can click on the MOVE tool (see previous notes to find this tool) and you can move the photo about until it is just where you want it placed

Hope this helps#

What did you download first Nina. I have opened PSCS2 like you have, and that's it! Have searched the net for digi help, then thought of UKS, (I'm bit slowwwww today). What do I do now to set my page to 8x8 and create the digi look plus then insert my text and photo?

I will print off the instructions on this thread so far, just don't know where to get the digi LO part of it. Thanks. :)

Glad I was able to help - I've only been digi scrapping for four months, but it doesn't take long to whizz round photoshop once you get going.

Are you going to post a link to your layout so I can see what wonders you've created? I'd love to see it.

Thanks Hesjane for your help, I can assure you it is very much appreciated.:) Couldn't you sleep my lovely? ;)

Thanks to Nina too, as we both installed PS near enough at the same time, didn't we lovely? :)

Had a go yesterday evening, in between switching windows with the site with the tutorial on, so I think doing that for a bit, should be able to get used to it more. May post here though if I get stuck!
