Ok I'm a newbie to stamping and inking and as i've now got a collection of different makes and types of stamps I'd love some advice on how and what to use to clean the different types please.

I have Tim Holtz Alcohol inks
Brilliance pads Archival ink Adirondack ink
Cats eye chalk inks
Stazon
Encore
ink it up (ink s plus embossing pad)
various smell nice inks in tins by ranger
Distress inks by sir tim

I have alcohol blending solution, have ordered stazon cleaner and also have baby wipes but now I'm confused as to which are alcohol based inks and which are waterbased and how to clean them after use.

Can some kind soul give me an idea of what I use to clean my stamps please and how?

thanks in advance

hi Del :)

all of your pigment inks (Brilliance, most ink it ups, encore), dye inks ( the smellies and distress), chalk inks, and distress inks can be cleaned off just by a quick run under the tap, or wiping off with a baby wipe.

stazon I don't bother cleaning as it doesn't carry on to the next stamp, if that makes sense, I just stamp off the excess. It will stain your stamps, and if that bothers you, use Stazon cleaner.

Alcohol inks can be cleaned off pretty much anything using blending solution.

Hope that helps :)
