when you do your introduction into your cj..maybe put that you dont want pink n frilly things in it. or we can all list that we have a boy or girl.

Can you put my theme down as colours please, I already have a picture in my head of a 6x6 book full of different colours and by the time my cj comes home ds2 will be almost 18mths so quite a good time for looking at a colour book. Off to get some bits and pieces done. Have a good day.

Emma - I'd put either in your introduction or on a seperate note that you want your book to be for a boy.

Had a think - put me down for a 'toys' theme!!
I'm a CJ virgin!!! (with 2 kids the only kind! :rolleyes: )
have any of you got cj's on here I could have a look at - don't want to let the tem down:unsure:

if you go into the gallery and scroll down , there is a gallery just for cj's, for you to look at for some ideas. no....you wont let the team down....we were all cj virgins at one time:D infact, i think i still am !!!!

Sorry I have to change my theme. You see I was telling hubby about this Cj and the song I was going to use and and was chided it's NOT a lullaby more of a love song.

Sooo my new Theme is My Song To You Darling/Precious, Baby etc... however you want end the title.

im Ellie i live in preston in the north west, ive got two children alice who turned two in march and joseph who was born November 2005 so hes just 5 months and a little angel. oh better married DH before he has a sulk, ive been married to Peter for three years in june but been with him since I was 15 im now 23 feel more like 43 or 33 at least my life has felt like its been on fast forward for the last five years lol

I'm Anna, aka Yorkiegirl. I have gorgeous DDs, Sophie is 4 and Alexandra was 2 on April 2nd. I live in Leeds with my DH, we've been married nearly 6 years. I'm 30 and I work part time as a teacher. Been scrapping for about a year now, and I love every minute of it. I also make cards to order. I definitely need to give up my day job to give more time to my crafts lol!

i am Emma i am from Rotherham and have a 2 yr old son called Josh (JJ) i am 22 and live with my Partner (not pinned him down to the wedding just yet LOL) Gez. I am a SAHM, who can only craft when my little un goes to bed... 7pm onwards (fella works night so no distractions lol). i am pretty new to all of this crafting lark but am enjoying it so far. I have an addiction to buying stash that i dont actually need LOL.... i buy them becuase they are pretty!!

hello I'm Marilyn. Married 8 years in July. Have 3 girly girls and a good indication of that is I do 5 loads of laundry 1 each of colors,, whites, and darks and 2 are pinks & lilac loads.

I love bieng a SAHM but every now and then it sure wipes me out :blink:
Liliana is 4 Rosana will be 3 on May 2nd & Ariana is 17mos .old

Scrapping now 5 years but have taken several Sabbatical's on account of renovations and bieng preggy:P

Hello everyone, my name is Alexandra (Alex), I've been married for 3 months to Sam, and have an 8.5 month old son Callum. We are currently trying for our 2nd baby (I just had a miscarriage which was devastating). We've been together for about 4 years. I am also a SAHM and my H is in the Navy. Been scrapping since Callum was born and love it. Originally made cards but was pretty crap at it so gave it up.

hi, im tracy-lihanne...ive been married for nearly 15 years to a wonderful hubby (at times !!), we have a gorgeous little boy called harley, who is now 2 1/2. my hubby is army, so at the moment we are living in brussels belgium for the next 2-3 years.
i started off card making 6 years ago and then went into scrapping 8 months ago, and i am totally hooked.:D

I am going to use a blank spiral bound journal just smaller than A5 as i want this CJ to be full of useful hints, tips and advice on the subject of food so I can give this to my sister when it is complete. She is due to be induced tonight!!!! so her little 'un will be about 8 months old by the time I get my CJ back so feeding time will be an issue for her!!!!:lol:

I've been thinking about everyones themes and how I may go about doing them, and although I know it will be in the intro of each CJ I thought it may be helpful if we put on here a brief description of what we want. I'm just a bit worried I wont get any ideas for some so want to be as prepared as possible!

I'll start:

My theme is counting which i think is fairly easy - I want each page dedicated to a number, I'd like it quite colourful, fairly neutral (as in not too pinky, not to blue) as I have a little boy but hope to have a little girl in the future who will be able to use it too! I'd quite like it to go in order and to be quite bold!

Introductions: Sorry for missing it - been obsessed with lack of sleep with DD2!

I'm Jo. Married to Richard for coming up 18 years. We have 2 gorgeous girls:
Charlotte Francine who's 2 & 7 months and our new addition - Helena Ruby who's 10 weeks tomorrow!
I've been scrapping about 18 months but haven't done much altered stuff & this is my 1st cj.
I work FT - I'm a Science Teacher & Head of Department but I'm off on Mat Leave at the mo although I have to go back before the end of term. DH is currently a supply Teacher (He's the Mom & I'm the Dad IYSWIM) he was doing FT which we needed for me to be off but he hasn't got a contract for next term so it depend what coes up in the next few weeks how much longer I can stay off.

I'm trying to decide what kind of book is best - Would the 7gypsies board books be suitable??? I fancied making a book but I'm not sure how to do what I'm think of, so I'm wondering if that type of book is OK for this? Or... would I be better with page protectors to do 'slip in' LO's & then make a cover????? What the most sensible for posting & using?

Thanks for the links Anna - really lovely work. I'm trying to decide what to use for staying good in the post??? I'll have to spend an hour or so in the scrapbook shop without the kids! :P
Mad house here - Charlotte is taking a strop 'cos the Fimbles have finished & Helena is 'crying it out' even though she's being cuddled - Dh is sitting looking bewildered at her & I'm on here ignoring the lot of them :unsure:

Next question- Photos
Do we include photos, so we not or is it up to the person who's in charge of the journal or the person doing the LO?

Jo, I think its up to the person doing the layout whether they include photos. I've looked at the CJs in the gallery on here and some people just do a page of tags with comments on - things like that! Have a look, it gives you some great ideas!

How bizarre. I grew up in Durham and my parents still live there. My dad lectures at the University and mum is a retired teacher. I go to the Scrapbook Shop every time I go up. Got my 7gypsies book there but they don't do them any more.

I didn't include any photos with my CJ. Out of 12 of us (in 3 teams) involved in the CJ I organised on another site only 1 person sent photos to be scrapped as she chose the theme 'smile', her kids' smiles in fact!

THink it depends if you want photos of other peoples children in your cj. May also depend on the theme I want mine to be like a book with a double page for each colour so photos wouldn't really work. One of the other cj's I am in is all about how you met your partner so you really need to include photos.

not started yet. Have just done 50 wedding invites and CC stuff this weekend.
My last one I painted the cover. And inked it. And stuck paper on it. So you can do lots of different things.

i covered My CJ last night... i Just have to sort out some letters for the front then that is done. then on to the Into and Sign in :)
Quite pleased with how it looks so far.... Although i didnt fold over the front cover onto the inside like i should have done so you can see the brown Board sandwiched between the Papers on the edge but i guess that isnt a big problem LOL...

I must get started. I've been cybercropping too & I just coudn;t keep up. I've still got 5 classes to do - I went stash shopping for half the classes & only got half of those done :lol:

Do we get further instructions on what to do with them re who to post etc?
Also for those who've done these before is there a good way to pack them up prior to going in the padded envelope? Is it OK to reuse envelopes/boxes?
I just want to make sure I know what I'm doing incase I make a bad mistake & upset/offend.

I'm still unsure out LO of the book. I know I need to:
decorate the cover
Signing in (front of book??????)
Some sort of introduction - help needed on this one - where, what, all journal??????
Do I do a LO?
How many pages do I need? If I want something specific or to give an 'it's Ok to....' can I do that, do I include it in the book or what?
Do we do a 'covering letter'????
Help!!!
Do we have an 'end page'
Double or single LO's????

Also who else CC'd would love to have a nose in your gallereis for classes & challenges.

Jo - you can do anything you want. Generally people do the cover, sign in page/s front or back whatever suits you. You can do a lo or do yours when the journal comes home? I have done journals where I've done an intro page with some instructions and others where I don't put anything, depends if you have specifics that everyone needs to know - although you could put a letter/note in with the journal with these on them. You basically need a double page in the book for everyone on the circle.

Oh you have made my day. I have a stinking cold which I generously passed on to my two little beasties and I have just read that Blog, I laughed so much that I think I can safely say I have completely cleared my lungs, nose and throat and I can actually breathe clearly for the first time in about two days!!!!!!! DH found a load of bubble wrap in the garage! He didn't find what he went in to look for (the straps from the high chair - NEED to sit Helena at the table as she hates being left out of meal times - fortuntaly, unlike her sister did, she's not showing signs of need early weaning, as I want her in the high chair when it's food time - so he's got a few more weeks to find them).
I might get mine in the post tomorrow but if not will sort it on Thursday.
How long does BFPO take to Belgium? Used to be about 3 days to BAOR when DH was there.

Is a bubble wrap bag inside a padded envelope OK? I was thinking of making a bubble wrap back & the 'rules' suggest ziplock - what do you think?
Do we also put name & address inside etc just in case it goes AWOL??

I need to find a bigger jiffy bag than the one I have. My CJ fits in atm but having just got my first CJ back at the weekend I can see now that once my CJ has a few entries in it will be pretty big!

thats fine but i wouldnt worry about the jiffy bag it will probably need replacing after a few postages any way im sure we will all adapt to what is needed and sort out what needs sorting iykwim??

Ellie - a question about the Milestones CJ from your Mum. Do we each choose a milestone to do or put in general about milestones in general or a combination of what we want??

Helena is fine now & hungry for solids!!! 3rd day of weaning & unlike her big sis Loves that horrible Baby Rice!!! Charlotte is on the mend although still not well, poor thing has had it bad!!! But yourstruely has blocked nose & thinck throat now - & I'm soo stiff esp around the c-section. Got on the floor at church to help charlotte cut & stick the picture she had to do & I had to get 2 older ladies to help me back up - boy did I feel stupid!! :lol:.

I'd love to know what adhesive your Mam used too it's given a lovely finish!!

Tracy got it in the post at lunch time. What a day I was having!!!!! Took me absolutely ages to decide what to do on it & then Charlotte went all shy on me for the photos!!! Eventually she was coerced into cooperation!!!! - You'll see what I mean when it arrives!!

Gutted tonight - DH has put loads of work into the garden after we had buidling work done & the hard landscaping had to be altered - we've got lots of containers (hanging baskets, tubs & troughs) & he's tendered the plants with TLC to have a lovely display for the w/end of DD2's Christening & the whole lot are infected & dying!!!! Some have come on huge but the 'rot' is in at least 1 plant in each container - looks like some sort of grub in the leaves. My sis's OH is a plant expert (he used to get called 'world wide when there was a 'plant emergency' {whatever that was!!} so we are going to email pix to Josh the 'Plant Doc' in the hope he can tell us what it is & how to stop it spreading further - we're guessing it was the compost!!:(

LOL... i cant get the hang of the Date lately... i am still in may LOL... i only noticed yesterday my calendar Still said May. i have a calendar Telling me posting dates so i dont Send anyhting when i am not supposed to LOL... but thought i was Wrong LOL.....

I have my mums wedding album to finish for wednesday anyway... will keep me amused

Ellie - no worries - I've just checked the date for the next post & then the one after so I'm OK. I'm back at work on Mon but still have time before 8th July - also the following week the house will be upside down with the joinary work - kitchen base units (& therefore all doors & worktops - plus we've bought new sink) & ceramic tiles to be replaced - the hall floor to be relayed (stripped to concrete at mo) plus hall & kitchen to paint re:flood damage. & whilst we've got them in we're paying to get the living room floor laminate too (might as well whilst we have the mess). Then the Christeneing!! Then I have a week to do the next Cj before our hols!!! The scrapping fits in nicely for stress relief!!

Got advice from sis's BF in the US. Went to garden centre today to get the fungicide & fertilisers he recommended - hope he's right. Looks like we might just have to replace 4 hanging baskets & a few plants in the tubs.

wow jo I dont envy you! but we are inthe prosess of looking for new flooring for the front room and kitchen Im not looking forward to it! so i can understand the need for stree relife lol. i will tell my mom whats happening and if she gets chance to finish the next one early i will get her send it early so you have more time for it :)

ive just thought tracy goes away in july but cant remember the dates im sure its early on?

anna i just goy a thing through on msn saying do you want to add anna aka yg i was like who blocked it then realised who itg was and went through a rigmarol of getting it back lol
