did the other one get too big?
iamjoygray
10-04-2006, 03:15 PM
probably so - think they can cause problems if they get too large
Angela, everyone needs some me time; it's easy to get lost in being a mommy otherwise - def. start to schedule it in :) Re: the transfers, I've done a few (just a few) with photos from my printers using Golden gel, and they've been fine. (THey haven't been onto a canvas though.) Another option would be to take some pics to a place with a colour copier and then try the transfers. Wish we lived closer to each other so we could play while the fathers minded the wee people. ;)
Had a lovely day out at the Bangor Kids' Club with C. I should be cleaning now....

Any sign of the CJ Joy? If not, should deffo come tomorrow. Enjoy your Mr. C time. Was at Helen's Bay yesterday for a lovely walk and it reminded me of the hours we spent when my DD1 was about 18months playing "stone" "water" "splash" with endless repetition!  She was so funny, each stone she lifted was like the first one she ever saw, and the whole thing had to be accompanied by the words! Ah, innocent minds!
Hi girls - bookmarking our wee thread for future gossiping!
Hey Judith - just realised - Bonanza is only 1 month away!!! YAY! We'll have to organise to meet up and hang out! Maybe we could try to get tables beside each other in the crop room? (although we may not get much cropping done if we do!!) Maybe dinner too? Not sure how much you have planned with your DH though - wouldn't want to be a gooseberry and spoil your romantic evening!! ;) Anyway - will PM you about it ...
Is anyone else going? I know you are Sharon - we should all meet up at some stage. Maybe we can discuss at my house on the 27th?
Now - must go to bed as I am knackered! :D Same old, same old .... ;)

Judith, whew, CJ is en route!!!! I have a new method since with this CJ - find all related potential stash and then go mad.... It's fun to see what develops, and the pages are better than my previous CJs.
Sharon, cool, I'm intrigued now!
Ah, yes, ebay is a brilliant place for bargains!

Thanks for the birthday wishes. A friend bought me an M&S book about Scrapbooking, a huge mug, and a G I N O R M O U S bar of Galaxy, so I spent the afternoon drinking coffee, stuffing my chops with chocie and reading a book bout Scrapping. What more could a girl want for her birthday?!
Judith - The other CJ suits fine for next week, Im ashamed to say I havent started Debs yet, I know what I want to do, just aint got the time with the kids off school etc. Hope your 20 week scan goes well today .......... boy does time fly, 20 weeks already!

Stephanie - I have just received your journal, it's lovely. Just on question, do we do something on the season we receive the journal in or just pick our favourite season?
Anyone else know the answer to this. TIA
Belfastgirl
15-04-2006, 01:33 PM
Judith, I thought that it was the season that we received the journal in that we were to do...
Stephanie, I'm sure that you are wrecked after that party and getting stuff all organised for the opening! Do you have an exact date for it yet? I'm sure you'll find as many of us lot that can make it camped outside for the grand opening!

Well, C and the pups have started into the chocolate here.... Saving my Lindor egg for later.
yetanotherhelen
16-04-2006, 11:21 AM
You have puppies? And Lindor is just my absolute fave. This house is having an Easter egg drought this year - kids are all grown. Did buy them all Lindt bunnies though! When they were little we used to ration them with the chocolate but it dragged on for weeks(and was a great temptation for me!) Then we got to the point where we said for goodness sake just eat it and be done with it. I think that sort of got rid of any chocolate cravings they ever had!:D
iamjoygray
16-04-2006, 06:54 PM
Well they are 5 but they are pups to me

Hi All!
Long time no speak!
Happy Birthday Joy - OMG! How many easter eggs do you have???? LOL
Happy Belated birthday Juls!
A big hello to everyone else!!
Stephanie - You have to humour me - I've not been following the script lately - when and where are you opening (please let it be close!LOL)
Debs - I'm going to get Laura's journal done this week and get Al to drop it off next Tuesday - hope that suits ok. Then that's me up to date I have no others in my possession at present!
Well, went last week to my wee gran's funeral. The service etc. was lovely, they played a song at the service by I think G4 - or what are them other ones called?;) It was very sad. On a happier note though I got to meet my 4 brothers for the first time. I was very apprehensive before I went because I've never even spoken to them before so I didn't know what to expect or how they would be with me. The couldn't have been nicer - we seemed to hit it off really well (either that or they were just being nice to me for Gran's sake!) All big tall handsome lads - I'm sort of glad I didn't "bump" into any of them prior to getting in contact with my dad before I knew they were my brothers - I have to say that it could have been risky IYKWIM!  They knew how to look after me anyway - they plied me with vodka and fed me chips!
We took the kids up to Carnfunock Park today - it was a great day out. Mind you the treasure hunt was a bit of a hike! They had one in the maze for the under 5s which was fine, round the maze collecting the wooden pegs. Took the pegs to the lady and Aimee was awarded with 3 creme eggs.
The boys did the big treasure hunt. Well, we were round that park in every nook and cranny - me in my boots! By the end my back and feet were killing me and I could have lay down on one of the park benches and slept. The boys took their treasure hunt forms over to the collection point - and guess what they won????
ONE STINKIN MEASLY CREME EGG EACH!!!!:o :o   I couldn't believe it - Aimee got more for a quick dander round the maze collecting clothes pegs!LOL LOL The moral of that story is - CHEAT! Tell the lady that your 8yr old son and his 7yr old mate are under 5 and take them round the maze collecting clothes pegs!LOL

Carla, that's Larne borough council for you! was almost down at Carnfunnock myself today, as I was at my parent's house for the weekend, and my SIL was taking her kids to the egg hunt, fortunately was able to use Daniel as an excuse... wouldn't want him to catch any bugs... ;) my SIL had some problems yesterday at the egg painting thing in Carnfunnock where the older kids stole my little 3 year old nephew's eggs that he had won for painting... I have Julie's CJ which I will get done this week and passed on to you, so that will be that up to date... hopefully we'll all get back on track!
Joy, looks like you had a great time with Calum! Hope that you had a lovely birthday... we are all doing fine here!
Helen, yes, DH is very good and gets up to do his first night time feed usually between 12 and 1, then I do the rest, at about 3 and 6... we're trying to convince the wee man to feed 4 hourly, but he's not having it just yet, it'll come in time... just want it to be sooner rather than later... It means I get a good few hours sleep before I have to get up and DH gets a decent enough nights sleep before he has to go to work...
Hope that everyone had a lovely easter!

Thanks girls :) All of the birthday wishes are lovely. Mr C and I are good, think we are on the end stretch of the cold now. (So, Angela, I'll be in touch soon :P :D How did the HV visit go?)
Carla, I love your stories! Sounds like the kids had a great day out. And your brothers sounds like lovely lads. Big (((((hugs))) for all that you've been through with the funeral.
Helen, Wed is grand. :)

Joy, the HV visit was fine... she just weighed him and then chatted about how she was moving house!!! haha... I was asking her about the baby sleeping bags, as I am never sure how much to put on Daniel at night time with the sleeping bag... these are the kind of things that I never have to deal with in work! Glad to hear that you pair are getting much better!!!!
judenesbitt
18-04-2006, 12:22 PM
Angela - I never put a vest on Lauren when I used a sleeping bag - just her baby-gro/pj's. I also bought one of the lightweight tog ones for the summer months. HTH :) I don't klnow if this is correct but it worked for us
Belfastgirl
18-04-2006, 12:46 PM
Judith, thanks :) I had put Daniel in one of the long sleeve vests with a 0.5 tog sleeping bag as it was quite warm, but then he was cold in the middle of the night... I was just following the instructions on the sleeping bag, but I thought that he really would need to be in a baby gro... will try that tonight :) thanks so much!
Am currently trying to sort out photos to get printed for the CC... I've went through all my stash and had a great time doing it to try to find papers similar to the ones used... so shouldn't have to buy any!!! plus its using up a lot of paper that i probably wouldnt use otherwise!
iamjoygray
18-04-2006, 05:37 PM
Aww  I haven't used the sleeping bags much - just inititally - guessed my way through it. :) As Calum got bigger he'd get annoyed at anything that restrained him. He's having a rotten day today :( Relapsed I think :(
Meanwhile, DH and I have been building playhouses in the rain for him LOL. Hopefully he'll like it (came with a slide and a bench).

Carla - We were thinking of heading to Carnfunock (never been there, what is there to do?) but ended up at Castle Espie. Emily is doing a bird project so we thought we would get some photos for it. Mind you, all the birds have been stuffed (excuse the pun!) with seed (that you buy there) and fancied the bread instead, which of course we hadnt brought:rolleyes: . Had a nice we walk, picnic in the cold and the kids bought pencils in the wee shop with their Easter money so was a nice day out.
Talk about unfit - walked up to Scrabo Tower today and then climbed the 124 steps to the top:wacko: . Im not joking, it took me about 5 minutes to catch my breath. Anyone who has been to the Tower will tell you that its very tight and small at the top, and we managed to bump into the girls school principal (they were not amused) He said he thought he recognised the pigtails - meaning Emilys!
Laura - Finished Debs CJ and went to post it today but the PO was closed, so will post tomorrow.
Well must go bath girlies and then make a wee birthday card for my nephew who is 6 tomorrow. Have a real cute photo of him, so Im gonna turn it into a card for him. Hes having a trampoline party tomorrow - so PLEASE NO RAIN!!! Some chance.
Hope you are all enjoying your Easter break.
PS Happy birthday Joy.

Lovely to see you today, Helen  Thanks for dropping off the CJ.

Awh! Your baby has become a little man! Great playhouse -did he like it, or did it come in a much more interesting box?:D
Good to see you also!
Belfastgirl
19-04-2006, 06:32 PM
Wow, Joy, that playhouse is fantastic!!! I'd hate to see how long it took to put up... I had such a laugh at DH building up a play gym thing... you know those ones that are like a rubber ring covered in material with a base and a play gym hanging over the top? He spent about 2 hours on it and then put Daniel in it, all proud... Daniel proceeded to scream the house down... play gym put away in 2 seconds with lots of disgruntled noises! Hope that your first day back went ok... I'm sure you didn't want to go... and hope your DH and the wee man had a lovely day together...
Looking forward to seeing everyone next week at Deb's house!
Edited to add: just attached some pics of the wee man...

19-04-2006, 06:35 PM

What a wee cutie!!! I wish they'd make a squidge smilie!!!:D :D :P
Juls - Carnfunock is great, we're up there usually a couple of times a year. We normally go just on a normal day so there's nothing really organised. They've got a wee cafe, a shop, a miniture railway, bouncy castle, play park, golf putting green, a maze in the shape of Northern Ireland, and several nice walks including round the pond. One of the garden's has all different sun dials in it which is pretty cool. But there's plenty to do for a day out, lots of benches around too so you can easily take your own food etc. There is also a campsite there which we are going to use during the summer all being well.
I haven't been to the top of Scrabo in years, but spare a thought for me when 7 years ago, I thought it was a fantastic idea to climb to the top of the Monument in London - hundreds and hundreds of steps in the style of scrabo tower later and I finally made it to the top. The views were fantastic but the way back down was not as "easy" as the way up! Every time I put my foot on the next step to come down the nerve would go in my leg, you know the way it goes if you hold your foot in that tiptoe position, like a dog having it's belly scratched! So needless to say it took me about 3/4 of an hour and a lot of help from my BIL to get back to the bottom! I got a certificate!
Joy - Callum will have a ball in that playhouse in the summer! Aimee loves those wee houses, there's one at the Mums and toddlers and she spends most of the time in it!
I'm going to attempt to attach a photo of me and one of my brothers that I met last week, hope I can remember how to do this - fingers crossed!35292

Belfastgirl
20-04-2006, 09:02 PM
Helen, he's getting so big, he'd pass for 2 months instead of 1! We were on the bus today and there was a lady with a tiny baby that had been premature... he just looked like a big bruiser beside her! I too was wondering about Jo, I see that she has logged on a few days back, so she is about... just hope that all is ok with her...
Judith, yes hes a wee blondie! It was the first thing everyone saw when he was born!
Carla, thats a lovely picture of you and your brother... I'm sure that it was nerve wracking meeting them all, but I'm so glad that it went well... :)
joy... will do! hehe... he gets so many kisses these days that he just looks at me as if to say, mum, would you just leave me alone!!! hehe... got to get them all in now before he can object to them!
Laura, he is really boyish isn't he! I had him in Castlecourt in Belfast one day last week and he was dressed head to toe in blue, and a lady came up and asked me if he was a boy or a girl...
Hope that everyone is ok :)

Carla - What a cool photo - gotta say it - your bruv is a bit of a 'hunk a chunk', very trendy. You made me LOL at the thought of you coming down the London Tower with the leg thing going on but wow you made it, well down. Im definitely gonna head to Carnfunock over the Summer, take a picnic etc, hope the girls could stick the journey, have to give them travel tablets if they go past Belfast!!!!!
Angela and Joy - really cute wee photos of 'the boys'. They are adorable.
Judith - Looking forward to CJ, maybe get it tomorrow.
Laura - Posted Debs to you today, (postage bit heavy on that one - dear help whoever gets it last!) but you will love it, its worth every penny.
Helen - Did you go to the magenta workshop at Valeries, it looked amazing. Havent been for ages, kids keep getting 1/2 days on Fridays, its really not on, mucking up my only scrapping day!!! Just kidding, love them being at home and having a big lie in.
Heading to Ballet Festival in Ards tomorrow, Sophie dancing a trio in the afternoon, then both of them dancing 'The Irish Famine' as a group dance in the evening. It always makes me want to cry as its really sad, even worse this year as Emily is the poor starved child who dies!!!!! Plenty of tissues needed then.
Hi girls!! At last - a couple of minutes to myself! Hope everyone had a lovely Easter.
Big  to Jo from me too - if you're out there!
Happy (belated) birthday to the two birthday girls! Hope you had good ones!
Carla - OMG! Your bruv is delicious! Are all four of them like that? How did you manage to stay cool?!!! Don't send the CJ on Tuesday as we won't be here - going to Aberdeen for a long weekend - DH's dad's 60th. We're back on Tuesday evening, so any time after that is fine. If you're coming to mine on Thursday (27th) you could just bring it then?
Angela - your wee Danny boy is the absolute image of you BTW ... and I can't believe how blond he is! i always wore a babygro (legs and long sleeves) under Finn's sleeping bag and a vest too in the winter! Despite what we're told about temperature, I am paranoid about him being too cold! He also likes the heat and loves being cosy and snuggled up - he's much more likely to wake and protest if he's not warm enough than if he's too warm. Don't know if that's any help - every baby is different and have their own preferences (don't we know it!!!). Finn (like Calum) got fed up with the sleeping bag once he started standing up, but some of my pals still use theirs and their kids are the same age as Finn.
Helen - Sharon's CJ will be with you before 1pm tomorrow. Think that's me up to date now? Whoever said the standard is really high was right - all the journals I've had are gorgeous! I'm really excited about how mine will look when it comes back!
I can't do the who's got what CJ list any more as we're on a different thread now and there's no first page!! Who is still waiting for a CJ?
Well - Finn gets his measles vaccine tomorrow - that'll be fun! He's defintiely getting to a stage where he likes to 'assert his independence' and let me know what he wants (or doesn't want) - usually by this high pitched scream! The good thing is - he doesn't seem to be a tantrum thrower and can be easily distracted as he's SO nosey! He's really affectionate and is well into his kisses, cuddles and (strangely - not sure where this one developed from) pats on the back!
Must go and think about what we're taking to Aberdeen!
Lots of love to everyone not mentioned - hopefully see you on Thursday 27th at mine?

Have a fab weekend, Debs! Hope you have the thermals packed for the frozen North though! And a trip to the Health Centre en route with commando boy - good luck! ;) I always waited till the last second when the nurse was approaching with the needle and at lightning speed flipped the baby over my knee, wheecked down the bottoms and stuck a chocolate button in the wee mouth. Never knew what hit them! Learnt from the first few times when nurse had you get the child all set up before she got organised, then they would squirm and complain before the needle was even close. Ah, those were the days........:D

Hi All!
Debs that's fine by me to keep it till Thursday - I'm not finished yet anyway!LOL Poor wee Finn! Is it the MMR he's getting? Give him a spoonful of Calpol before you go - that's what my dr always told me to do so they get instantanious pain relief!LOL Have a nice time at Aberdeen! I didn't realise the 27th was so close - where is the time going to.
What do we need to bring?
Helen - The boys are my dad's sons, I'd never met them before and had only ever spoken to Ant once, when he first discovered he had a sister! I only got in touch with my dad about 7 years ago, had never met him or him me before. We've only ever met twice but speak regularly on the phone. That was the first time I'd met any of the boys and I met them all together! It was fine though, it was as if we'd always known each other kwim?
Juls - Carnfunock isn't that far away once you get going. We had Lee's friend with us who gets travel sick so his mum gave him a wee tablet before we left and he was fine there and back again - we even stopped off in Carrick for Pizza Hut!
For some reason I wasn't getting email notification of replies, hopefully that's fixed now.
Well must dash - Al's in Scotland this weekend and I have arranged to go out with the kids and my cousin and then stay at hers and help her rid her house of Lindt Bunnies!LOL
Speak to you all soon.

Well, I think that I am scrapbooked out for the moment... managed to get a whole pile of stuff done this weekend, and really enjoyed using up some stash that I had no idea what I was going to do with!
Debs, yes, he is very like me... it is so wierd to look down and see this little face looking up at you, who looks strangely like yourself! I also see him very like my youngest brother, but to start off with everyone said he looked like DH! Thanks for the advice re: the sleeping bag... the wee man is never in the silly thing, because DH thinks it looks like a dress, and so refuses to put him in it... so he only goes in it when I put him to bed at night... Hope you have a lovely time away! Looking forward to seeing you on thursday :)
Carla, I have Julie's CJ all done and ready (oh its soooo lovely!)... do you want me to post it or bring it with me on Thursday (hidden in a baggie so that no one can see!)? I don't mind posting it if you would prefer.
oooh I'm second to last with Debs' CJ... will have to get thinking about some songs and a few alternatives incase they are already taken! I had my page all planned in my head for Sharon's CJ, but when it arrived the quote had already been used, and it had only been with 2 people!!!!
Helen, oooh I hate washing machines, they always break down at the most inconvenient of times... we got ours out of Big W where DH works, was a good deal but it's totally pants! Sometimes Macro have them and have good offers on...?
Debs and Joy... hope the wee men's jabs all went ok.... you girls know that there is a new one coming out as well ? - pneumococcal jag... I'm not sure how they are going to work it with bigger ones, but Daniel should have been getting it with his first set of immunisations, but I think there is problems with getting it all organised, so its not due to start until July... its one I am very keen to get him vaccinated against, as have looked after a few children who had pneumococcal meningitis and its dreadful... :(
Well I hope that everyone is well... still no word from Jo?

Julie- Did you get the CJ OK?
On another note, there is a new Art/craft shop openeing in Bangor soon. It is in High Street, called "Hobby Dashery" :) Hope it has some scrapping stuff. Will give the Craft Depot a few doors down a run for their money  well that wouldn't be hard:lol:

Helen - yes - get the American whirlpool ones at Currys - £499 I think - and they hold sooooooooooooooooo much more laundry!!!! Saves loads of time.
Angela, I hadn't heard that - will ask about it. C's jabs are Wed., as long as he's well - kind hovering between well and the cold still. I have PM-ed Jo but no work yet. Hope she is okay.
We've had a great day out shopping and and the park. We went on a miniature railway, played on slides (a new thing), watched jet skis (Calum wants one LOL), etc. It was really sunny and beautiful. I'm just catching up on stuff now. Big presentation in the morning for my team.... Hopefully it will go well.

Mmm. Could have really done with one of those when the kids were small; probably can't justify the expense now; looking at several around the 250-325 mark. LG seem to be well recommended now; just can't afford the Bosch/Miele/Siemens but they are "Which" best buys. Well, better timing than my last machine which packed in on Christmas Eve one year- just what you need to be buying the day before Christmas!!!!

Helen, looking forward to seeing you too :) I think I have a saved the pm that I sent you the last time with the directions to my house so I shall resend it to you! I enjoyed the Cybercrop... the friday night classes were brilliant imo, and I'll probably get round to doing the classes I missed out on at some stage! There was a great "doodling" class and one on drawing flowers which looked fantastic, just didn't get the chance to do it... its one of those things I would have been scared to try on a LO, a bit like the way alot of people have issues with their own handwriting on their LO's... I know what you mean about worrying about people on here... if someone hasn't posted in a while I start to worry...
Judith, glad you had a nice weekend, hope that you are keeping well :) is baby kicking loads yet? Thanks for the info about the new craft shop in Bangor, it will be interesting to see what their stuff is like!
Joy, poor wee man, hope that all goes ok for him... Daniel will be due his first set of jabs in just over 2 weeks time and I'm breaking my heart at the thought of it!

I'm hoping to go scrap shopping tomorrow for a while, so who knows I may find the inspiration I'm looking for there! Thought I might try that wee lighthouse shop in D'Dee cause I'll be down that way tomorrow.
I have to go to the drs in the morning - to remove a mole that dropped off last week! They said still come to the appt incase there's anything left in there!LOL Then I have the dentist in the afternoon, so I don't really have time to go into Belfast.
Was up seeing my Granda last night and he's in good form. They've scanned his arm to try to find out what's wrong. They think there's a blockage somewhere because he has no pulse in that arm. So I have to go up to see him tomorrow at some stage aswell, probably leave that till tomorrow evening.
Well I'm off to bed, I'm knackered.

Hi all!
Have been down visiting my mum in sunny Larne for the last few days... it was nice to not have to worry about housework etc! Though saying that have just come home to find the house a mess... <_< men...
Sharon, thanks, I was really busy with the CC... managed to get 6 LO's, plus half of one that I couldn't get the inspiration to finish... and the two mini books done over the weekend, so I think I did quite well... it was good because I didn't get much scrapbooking done for myself during the last few months ...
Judith, thanks :) He's at the age where he sleeps quite a lot so its still possible to do a bit of scrapping... he was sitting in his wee bouncy chair watching me cut paper... and he giggled everytime I cut card with the paper trimmer! must make a lovely noise to him!!! Will miss seeing you tomorrow night...
Carla, shall bring the book heavily disguised  ;) :D so no one can sneaky a look... looking forward to finally meeting you!
Juls, looking forward to seeing you again!!! Don't worry, the last time I was at Debs, I just pushed a few pieces of paper around for a few hours and stared in amazement at other people's work... great fun :)

Hi girls! Looking forward to seeing all of you that can make it tonight! Sorry I haven't been online - was away until Tuesday and then spent yesterday recovering from my 'holiday'!!! Had a nice time, but keeping a 16 month old amused in someone else's house without his own toys is TIRING with a capital T!!! Not to mention that said 16 month old decides (for the first time in his life) that he's not going to go to sleep and isn't going to let mummy leave the room either (probably due to the strange room, different cot and fact that there was way too much interesting stuff going on outside the bedroom!!)! Naughty boy! Finally settled down, the last night was fine and during the days he was a wee angel (not even slightly grumpy due to lack of sleep - unlike his mummy!!) but it all takes its toll and I couldn't keep my eyes open yesterday!
Don't worry if you haven't not got anything to bring along - I haven't been scrapping too much lately either - just haven't had the time and have been knackered! Chin wag is definitely in order though! Judith - sorry you can't get a babysitter - if you manage to rustle one up at the last minute feel free to come along! We'll miss you
Julie - will PM you directions.
Joy - hope Callum's jabs went OK! Finn was a proper little soldier! Cried when they actually stuck the needle in but stopped after about 5 seconds - and then got a sweetie! Was all smiles by the time we left and not a peep out of him since! Bless!
Think I saw Jo walking along the Movilla Road in Newtownards the other day, but not too sure. Looke like her wee dog too. Was late (as usual) or would have stopped.

Joy, :( poor callum, is he feeling ok otherwise? Daniel is due to get his first set of jabs in 2 weeks and I am breaking my heart at the thought of it! We are doing ok, thank you :) We have better days when it is just me and him in the house, as it is much quieter and much less exciting! Means he sleeps better and is in better form, when DH is there all day he just wants to play and then gets grumpy because he hasn't slept!
Has anyone done Shimelle's online art journal course? I've just signed up for it this morning, I'm hoping that it will encourage me to document more of our day to day lives... the little things that make life what it is, but the things you tend to forget to include in scrapbooks, plus it will be a bit of a challenge and actually make me do things as opposed to leaving them until a later date!
Hope that everyone is well... its become very quiet on here!

Hi girls!!
Well - it was my pleasure to have you all over on Thursday and I think I got my 'mojo' back (as Helen said!). I actually did my 'Commando crawling' page today after the inspiration I go ton Thurs!! Mind you - I didn't end up doing anything like I thought I would - but there you go!! Will try to upload to gallery tomorrow if the computer is free.
I did two of Shimelle's classes - the 'Night and Day' and the 'Its in the post'. They were both fab - although I haven't actually done the journals yet (I was ill when the classes were running)! Well worth the cost I'd say.
Gotta go as (as usual) DH wants the computer.

Things are going well now, I am 27 wks today and quite big, getting uncomfortable and tired again due to the big weight. Judith how are you? Will def have to catch up.
I cant begin to catch up with everything but the main thing is Angela CONGRATULATIONS on the birth of Daniel I am delighted for you.
I also see that some of you were at Debs the other night I am sure it was great plenty of chat and no work as normal:lol:
Havn't scrapped in mths and mths but feel I am slowly getting my mojo back, I hope so.
Well its good to be back
JO:wub:
Hey stranger!! Glad to have you back! Did I see you walking down the Movilla Road with your wee dog about 11am Thursday before last? Thought it was you but (as usual) was late so couldn't stop!
Anyway - just a quickie hi to everyone as I'm trying to use the computer while DH is out!

Hey Jo!!! So glad to hear from you - we were all getting quite concerned, but understand perfectly, so no apologising, you hear? It's really great to hear from you again; you take things easy and look after NO.1. Bet Holly and DH are getting excited now.
Good to have you back, even if it is a fleeting visit; we are all sending you positive vibes.
 Helen
Hey there! Finally managed to get the computer long enough to upload my Commando LO! Scan isn't that great but - you get the jist (not sure if that's how it's spelt!).
Now I'm off to bed! Night night!

Jo - Good to see you around again and am pleased to hear that things are going well. I am doing well thanks too (apart from the constant colds) and am now 23 weeks! Can't believe how quickly it has gone this time around.
Debs - had a look at your LO - It's great, love the army ribbons
Hope everyone s keeping well

Hi Ya JO!! (Waving madly!!!!) Glad to hear you're doing ok, we've missed you. Any pictures of that big bump yet?:D
Debs - Fantastic! It turned out really well, I love it. What did you use for your lettering? Just stamps?
You're right Judith, it's been miserable today and I think tomorrow is to be more of the same!:( Typical! I was driving home from work today and nearly got blew over the other side of the road!
Nothing new with me, I'm on to have a wee nosy round the online shops to see if I can get some stash. I need glue (not like me Judith eh?), have been using a glue stick but I've chopped the top off it so many times it's nearly done.
Got some photos developed and there's one of Aimee in her Ballet outfit, so when I get them scanned in I'll post it up. I'd seen some wee ballet embellies in the wool shop too and didn't get them. Must have a look and see if there's any nicer ones online. I'm fed up - think it's the weather - so I need a wee bit of retail therapy.
Big Hi to everyone else.
Speak soon.

Judith, how are you? Sent you a CJ today.
Carla, your posts always make me giggle. HOpe you are all cleaned up now!
Debs, fab LO! How are you & Finn?
Hi, Helen! :D
You guys know I WUB you and only scrap for you  (although even then it's altered style LOL). I haven't scrapped a page since I went back to work - no mojo there, just do altery stuff now.

Hi
No Debs I dont think it was me on the Movilla Road as I think I was in work that day (or should have been!!). Yes E1 is really looking forward to the baby, esp now its getting close, we are decorating the room at the moment which is nice. I only have 8 wks left in work and counting.
Sharon it was lovely to run into you yesterday, you looked really well. (we ran into each other in Ards shopping centre).
Debs have pm/d you.
Well better go and do a bit of work.

JO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so glad to see you again! I am so glad that everything is ok with you :D I'm sure that you are so excited... keep resting and looking after yourself and that precious little one  ... thanks for the congratulations, the wee man has changed my life forever, don't know what I ever did before!
Joy, we are doing fine... am down at my parents house again, its nice to have the company without the pressure of trying to keep the house tidy, plus I get a little time to myself - grandparents and aunties just love helping with the wee man! I found some of our old childhood books, my parents have a collection of hard backed books with lots of stories, nursery rhymes and the like... and I was looking at them thinking.... ooooh I'd love to alter them... so I was thinking of scanning some in and having a play around... my mum would probably flip if i started pouring paint and inks and all that stuff over her lovely books  Hope that all is ok with you :) I love your altered stuff!!! I must say though, that having Daniel has made me want to scrap more that I did before, but its not just pictures of him, I think its that I want to have something to give him when he is older about all our family members... thats what is driving me at the moment, but I do love looking at all the lovely altered things! I finally made my canvas, but it didn't come out the way I wanted... I suppose its still a work in progress, its very hard to get away from the scrapbook style, which is what it has turned out a bit like... oh well its a work in progress, I'll probably add stuff to it over the next wee while... think that I need to buy more altery type supplies! what would you use to do a baby footprint? I saw an inkpad one time in CW that was supposedly specially for it, but when i went to buy one they only had pink left... I just want to make sure that what I use is safe for the wee man... phew that was a bit long winded!
For the girls going to Bonanza, did you see the whole pull out section in the Scrapbook Magazine on it... had time tables and everything, plus details of the stalls... oooh and was wondering if you saw a stand for the craft robo would you mind having a nosey at who sells them! *just thinking about it...* how I would love one of those...
Hope that everyone is doing well :)

Angela, just a thought on the footprint, not sure how "baby safe" it is though. What about clear embossing ink? Then you can emboss it? I was doing some embossing the other week and that was exactly the thought that crossed my mind, because then they don't get ink all over their feet - well, not that you can see anyway!
I've ordered glossy accents from Joy - Seeing Helen, Debs and Angela's work has me intrigued!
Juls - I'll let you know how I get on with it!LOL
I'm going to attach the picture of Aimee in her Ballet outfit to let you all see.:D

Carla... oooh do you mean like versamark? I've not done much by way of embossing, but that sounds like a great idea... will have to search and see if it is safe to use, can't see why it wouldn't be... oooh I love Glossy accents! that reminds me, I'll be needing more sometime soon... its great fun to play around with! Hi, Judith, how are you feeling?
I know I've been quiet for awhile, but I've been here reading away. :)
Very sore/tired this weekend, but trying to think past it, mind over matter, too much to do to let things get in the way. :)
Mr C is doing well - kind of going throw a throwing phase (cars) and about to start toilet training.
Got good news at work last week, feeling better aobut that.
Still thinking about family stuff on the Texas front - have some unpleasant phone calls to make but it has to be done.
Made some more atcs over the weekend.

Hi Joy, I'm feeling well thanks.
Hope those aches and pains are getting better.
 at Mr C and his throwing phase, is it a little boy thing? I suppose if he isn't aiming at you then it's not too bad.
Good luck with the toilet training, what age is he now? Don't worry if he doesn't get it right away, Lauren had just turned 2 when I tried her, luckily it worked after a few days of carrying a potty to every room in the house and the garden :)
Hope everyone else has had a good weekend :)

I've come to the conclusion that everyone else here has a social life which I obviously dont! Carla, add me to your list. Wonder if Mandy will have any energy left after her weekend away?
I have now finished my altered contact lens challenge (will try to show you), a handbag charm swap (which I just messed up the glossy accents on!) and only have Sharon's CJ to do this week. Here goes for my lens case:

Carla, I will sponsor you too, you are very brave!!

Hi all.
Just a quickie as I'm in work!
Thanks everyone for your support - I'm going to need it! I still can't believe I've agreed to do this!
Joy - The girls are right - no pressure on the potty training front. Lee was about 33 months when he finally got trained. Lots of showing him the potty etc. but he was having none of it. Aimee was 28 months, I did it cold turkey over the Xmas holiday - no pants and a potty all day for 3 days then introduced pants! We had a few accidents along the way but it went generally well. Good Luck! A big bottle of dettol or milton helps!:D
Jo - Must be a wee hairy one you are producing there! I was killed with heartburn with Lee, towards the end it got so bad I was sleeping near sitting up. Don't know if this is how you spell it but it's pronounced "miss mag try sill o kate" pink gaviscon type liquid but worked wonders! I wasn't as bad with Aimee. Lee did have a good head of dark hair when he was born!
Judith - I know what you mean about thread killer - I was starting to get my paranoid head on  that everyone had started another thread and sneaked off without telling me! How have you been? Any heartburn with you?
Helen - Love the case. I've never seen one done before. Now, is this a "piece of art" or will it be used as your case? Haven't got playing with my Glossy accents yet but have been "dreaming" layouts! You know those inspirations you get?
Juls - I know exactly what I'm doing on your CJ (which is unusual for me) but whether it turns out as intended is another thing! I need to don my wellies for part of it! Just pray I don't get caught by the farmer for Tresspassing!:P
Well I suppose I should get back to work - that's what I'm here for!LOL

Helen - Love the lens case, very inventive!! :)
Carla - No heartburn...as yet!! I had it really bad towards the end with Lauren and used to pace the floors for hours. Turns out that I had a hernia, as it didn't go away after the little cherub was born and my GP had to prescribe a course of medication to resolve it. It was a pregnancy/hormone related hernia.
Only bothered with severe pain in my pelvic joints at the moment :( My friend is going to lend me a support belt as it is getting to the stage that I can hardly put one leg past the other :(
Sorry that was rather long winded!!
Hope everyone else is keeping well

Hi all - have to be really quick as Finn is running riot round the house!!
Joy - Finn is also going through a throwing phase (everything - including food!!) - must be their age!! Good luck witht he potty training. I've decided not to bother until Finn is nearer 2. I think I'll wait until I can have a conversation with him - he can understand everything now, but is only starting to try to speak a lot. hehe, i know, he's 8 weeks old today! Must say though, he's not terribly keen on this warm weather... am wondering if I should be giving him some cooled boiled water in between feeds... I bought him 2 little sun hats, and they are both huge on him despite supposedly being from 0-3 months! The one I got from Mothercare makes him look like huckleberry finn... just need to roll his jeans up, take off his socks and give him a fishing rod... as you can probably tell I spend my days laughing at the poor little guy's expense...
Helen, have you used your alcohol inks yet? I got one bottle today, and am waiting on the other 2 arriving... Joy, I managed to win a job lot on Ebay which had Pearl and platinum UTEE in it, plus a good few stamps and embossing powder, just waiting on them to arrive... is there an alternative to a melting pot? i think I read somewhere about someone using a tin can? Do the wax crayons smell when you melt them or are they ok? oooh i always have so many questions!
*waves to Julie* hope you are doing ok!

Just a quick Hi! and a Bye!LOL

Carla
Hi there! Well WHEW!!! Bonanza was great - it was really toucha nd go with some fo the classes - as Judith said, one of the 'tutors' had been taken into hospital the night before so that caused a few difficulties. Unfortunately, I had booked onto almost a whole day of her classes as i knew I liked her stuff!! We had a lot of different people as a result and the classes didn't turn out how I imagined. The girls that took them were lovely and as Judith has said they did the best they could at such short notice, but there wasn't much that was new or different. HOWEVER, it was all worth it for a few of the classs I did take with the teachers who were supposed to take them.
First one was the Basic Grey class with Becks Fagg - very thought provoking re. journalling and the subjects that we choose to scrapbook. Really got us thinking about WHY we do it. Showed us a couple of interesting little things to do with tags too. And of course we got to use the scrummy Urban Couture range - YUM!
Did a class with Leandra Franich (who is one of the founders/owners of PaperArtsy) which was great. We made an altered book (not too sure what I'm going to do with it mind you!!) but got to play with stamps and inks and stuff. That was a really good class for me as I had been interested in finding out more, but didn't really know where to start - and this girl really knew her stuff!! Came face to face with Gesso and Golden mediums for the first time, and of course the Tim Holtz distress inks!! All completely new stuff so learned a lot.
Last, but definitely not least was a fab class with Dyan Reavely - "Altered Heaven on the trailer Park" using 7 Gypsies stuff. Dyan is an artist and one the founders/owners of 'Art from the Heart' (with her daughter who designed the Blonde Moments papers). Anyway - it was the FASTEST class ever - a whole book in one hour! (Not a really big one though). Totally different to anything I'd usually do - she told us if we like neatness and straight lines we could leave before the class started and she also threatened to throw us out if we even thought about measuring and cutting!! A big departure from my usual style!!! The class was really knackering - but a great challenge and I definitely enjoyed it! Dyan is very funny and a really good teacher.
On top of that, I also bought for Ireland - it was great as I could actually see things instead of having to buy them online.
Well - I think I may be broadening and developing my artistic style - my CJ entries may be about to take a turn (don't know if it'll be for better or worse yet!!). First "new me" entry is in Laura's CJ - Helen, sent it off with my dad to be posted today, so should be with you tomorrow or Wed. You can tell me what you think!
I'm sorry that I've been a bit remiss in my duties as CJ organiser over the last coupl of months - its all got very confusing!! When everyone gets their CJs for this month, I'll put up a new list of what's where. This is how it should be:
Debs - should be getting Julie's
Helen - should be getting Laura's
Joy - should be getting Sharon's
Judith - should be getting Stephanie's
Julie - should be getting Angela's
Laura - should be getting Carla's
Sharon - should be getting Debs'
Stephanie - should be getting Helen's
Angela - should be getting Joy's
Carla - should be getting Judith's
I know somewhere along the line there's been a slight mix up and two have got swapped (can't remember which ones). Can you let me know if the CJ you have is NOT the one you're supposed to according to the list above (and we can try and sort it out). If you have 2 CJs, please just check that the one you complete first (in time for the June posting) is the right one.
The posting dates still to come are all 14th of each month. I've just realised that there are only 4 more left to go!!! Then we get them back! YAY!! I can't wait!
Finally, do you guys want to have another 'crop' at mine in June? If we stick to Thursdays we have five to choose from - all of which are free for me at the moment. But please let me know ASAP which ones are good for you so that I can put it in the diary, as I think June will be a busy month! Would you like me and/or Judith to do something on one of the classes we took at Bonanza?
Anyway - now I have to go as I have a thousand things to do, and I have some Bonanza projects that I want to finish while its all still fresh in my mind!
 to everyone!!

Just thought I would nip in here and say hello to everyone. Been busy doing some CJ's and did a few of the CC layouts, other than that I have 70+ wedding invites and place cards to do. It's really hectic at work and I seem to spend as much time in the air as I do on the ground.
Good to see everyone is doing well. Can't wait for Stephanie to open up, I've been holding off so I can support her (nothing to do with me wanting to spend you understand!).
Only two and a bit weeks til E and I go stateside. We're heading to Detroit for a week (I'll get to meet his Mum and Sister eekkkkk, Mum sounds lovely, sister sounds a bit of a trial!) and of course E knows to keep me happy a few hours in a scrapping shop will be necessary.
Angela - your little Daniel is sooooo cute and Judith, I agree with the others Lauren seems to have grown up all of a sudden!
Carla, brave woman. You know ChildLine have now merged with NSPCC so I'll sponsor you even though it's a bit of salary recycling lol!
Hugs and squishes.

Belfastgirl
16-05-2006, 09:10 PM
methinks so....
Oh yes Angela - Big Brother is watching you!!!!
Carla - have you sent the CJ? I haven't received anything yet ...
A few people seem to be struggling with the posting dates for the CJs (myself included a couple of months back). Please try as much as possible to post on time and if something is holding it up PLEASE (like Laura) let the person due to receive it know - so at least they won't be stalking the postie!!
Also - don't panic if you're one of the efficient ones **hangs head in shame** - if you end up struggling as a result of someone else posting late, just do what you can and post late if you have to. I will either figure in some extra time at the end for the last person to catch up (as everyone in the chain will end up having posted a bit late) OR I will change the last couple of posting dates and give us all an extension to finish up before the big handover ... Hope that made sense? OK - enough said!
Any more takers for a June crop - if so let me know dates, as it seems all so far can do the whole month.
Gotta go - Finn has just woken up and isn't happy to be left in his bed!

Debs I had just pm'd you about the cj before I came in here!:P I haven't quite got finished so I'm hoping to get it to you for next week. It might be posted this time as Al's off work but I'll pm you the day I send it or the day before Al takes it to let you know. Is that ok?
June crop sounds good, I can't make the 24th as I'll be hanging of a bridge somewhere in Randalstown! And Wednesday nights don't suit either, but other than that I think I'm fine.
OK, just looked down below and read the Debs' entry, Doh! Thursday's in June seem fine for me.

OK - just to float a date - how about Thursday 15th June? Haven't heard anything from Juls or Jo but will PM them and text Judith as she's not going to be online much for a while.

How was Bon Jovi then, Angela? And the reunion with golden boy?
Belfastgirl
21-05-2006, 10:29 PM
hello ladies :)
Well Mr Jon Bon Jovi is as stunning as ever... haha... had a great time, got some fantastic pictures as we were standing 5 rows back from the main stage... yep definitely a good time... missed Daniel loads though, but managed to only phone MIL once!!! He of course was delighted with all the company and different faces to smile at and charm, didn't even notice I wasn't there!!!!
I've got Joy's CJ now.... WOW!!! its so fantastic!!! :) I have just received some supplies, so will have a play :D Oh and on that note... the postman left the CJ outside in the rain  took it upon himself to sign for it... thankfully Stephanie had packaged it up really well... I have to say though I was nearly sick with fear that it was damaged when I was opening it... but it is perfect, no damage at all... phew! I don't know if I should complain to the post office? What do you think? I mean it was supposed to be signed for and the little strip on the recorded delivery part was removed, making me think that the postie signed for it himself... I'm so cross about it now... all that absolutely beautiful art work would have been destroyed if it hadn't been so well packaged...
Debs, any Thursday in June suites me... but will again have to ask for a wee lift...
Hope that everyone is well...

Hi all, just a quickie as I have called briefly at my parents.
Had a lovely week at Center Parcs and I think the weather was only marginally better than here, but the kids enjoyed themselves, which is the main thing :)
Debs, have Pm'd you re. the crop. The 22nd suits me to meet up. Also, I have already had Stephanie's CJ and currently have Angela's in my possession. Sorry if that adds to the confusion!

hi, i have posted Helen's CJ yesterday first class to stephanie.
No way! - I posted here last night and its gone now! That happened to Joy too - didn't it? Happened to anyone else?
It was really just to say - looks like its the 22nd June at mine - so get it in the diary. Juls is the only one who can't make it - and she may get lucky nearer the time and be able to join us after all! Fingers crossed Juls! - BTW got your CJ today and its fab!
So just to confirm those coming are: Judith, Helen, Carla, Sharon, Mandy and Angela. Haven't heard from Jo yet. Any more takers?
Can't stay on long as Finn is a very grumpy baby at the moment - he's getting eye teeth and its keeping him awake at night - which really naffs him off. He is NOT happy when his sleep is disturbed, I can tell you :nono: - this wee man likes his kip! It is unheard of for him - I know when he doesn't sleep there is definitely something going on! He's OK during the day - its just in the evening/night. Hopefully it will pass soon!!! Anyway - this is his grumpy time, so I'll go now and speak soon.
