just to update u my theme is numbers, u get ur number then choose a colour and make the page as pretty as possible. i am going to give my journal to my little girl who has difficulty learning, especially to do with numbers, so i hope my special book will help her enjoy them for a change.

Just a thought girls, are you all ok with one month between postings? or would you prefer three weeks? It's up to you girls. I know some people prefer longer between postings to allow for 'life events'! But if you want 3 weeks that's fine too :) let me know!

Tracey, your cj is fab. Mine's kid stuff compared to that. Normally I'd say 3weeks was fine but as I'm away every weekend in May it's going to be difficult that month, but as I'm at cub camp whit weekend that's not going to help me, so I'll have to get it done earlier anyway.

Hi everyone

dont be worried - i have been away for a few days!!! Im definately very keen on my Cj.
My theme is the sea and i have already done the cover and most of my section of the inside so will be ready for posting well before th date. Im hoping people will think coastlines/beachs/mermaids/fish/marine life/shells etc when they do my pages.

Got to go an catch up on my team thread and other stuff but will check in regularly now we have our own thread.

After a major accident to my CJ today :( all recovered and patched up with a new back cover and ready to post off. I will try and scan it in before I box it up.

Looking forward to this and loved making my book. Off to seek inspiration for my first entry in someone else's CJ. Scary!!

Accident involved cat, xyron very very sticky paper and trying to work on very small area of desk as dining room table not available. Do not worry, your CJs will get exclusive use of dining room table, no cat help and the xyron will only be used in another room!

Anyway CJ has new back cover which isn't the same as front as had none of that left :(

Anyway as you will see from my entry inside I am going for the natural, home made, handwritten, crafty effect!!

After the state of one of my jiffy bags which arrived today do not want to trust RM with it! Had a couple of what looked like knife slices right down one side. Have found a little cardboard box my CJ fits in (just) so will use that inside the jiffy bag.

Royal Mail Are pants LOL... if they break or lose my CJ (or anyone elses that i am passing along) then my postman will get it lol

I am not so happy with mine now i have seen others Work but dont have the time to start again Now :(

Emma, I'm sure your CJ is just fine!do not worry :D

Helen- bear in mind your CJ will grow in thickness - it might not fit in the little box by the end! I have seen people use those plastic folder zip up things (not just the plastic bag type - much tougher, you get them in stationery shops). I think they are a good idea.

it's just an a4 size plastic envelope with either a popper closure or ziploc type thing. I'm sure you've seen them, I'm not explaining very well!

However, if she doesn't post soon, then we will have to go ahead without her, so there will only be 9 in the group. Hope that's ok with you all. yoooo hoooo.... only me....I have bought one of those Plastic Zip up bags from Staples (to keep postmen at bay lol) but could only Get A4. they did have a smaller one but it Would Have JUST fit with no room for my CJ to get thicker.... Just got to get My Jiffy bag now... do they sell indistructable ones LOL... or maybe one with a tracker on it so it doesnt go missing..... ROFL.. i am an inventor me LOL.

I did my intro page on the inside cover so I wanted everyone to have side by side pages for their layounts. I don't think there is a right or wrong way to do things from what I can gather.

Sorry I have been away from my computer - went to Amsterdam to visit my daughter and then away for a few days with my new hubby to be and his mum - I am getting married on May 31st everyone to my lovely new man. I was widowed 2 and a half years ago very suddenly and thought I would never love anyone again but J has comed along and so very unexpectedly has love.
So I think love should be the theme of my journal.......love for kids dogs cats parents partners etc etc romantic sentimental whatever.......no pink though so thats a challenge!!

Well my Cj now packaged up and sent to PO with DH. Now at mercy of Royal Mail:(

(Sent early as agreed with Gina G so DH can post for me. So don't panic, nor due till Tuesday!)

I had a last minute panic and decided I didn't like my LO but restrained from changing it, might do it after;) Just to reiterate for my CJ anything goes, do your own style, colours etc. Want it to reflect you not you trying to do what I might like. I have put in a spare circle page for you to use as a template to cut round.Please try and keep this with the CJ as the last person will need it.

Actually things that need signing for do tend to arrive quicker. Postie said they have to bring those out whereas other "packets" are a pain and often get left a few days at sorting office for someone else to carry!

Hi,

One CJ arrived safe and sound from Emma.It's gorgeous, know what I am going to put in it so will make a start this weekend. Again, think jiffybag will need replacing, hopefully we can all repackage as they go around. We always have used jiffybags at work I can have that are in perfect condition. Maybe business post gets treated better!

I love purple too, mine's purple (well based on Amethyst papers which are a sort of purple). Just to make it clear again, anything goes in my book, don't have to stick to my colours, better if multicoloured!

If you're too scared to start why not work on a piece of card that you can stick into the CJ, that way IF (and I mean if) you mess up/ don't like it you won't effect the CJ... I would just say try a few things out without sticking them down first and see where it takes you... ENJOY THE PROCESS :D

Yes, wasn't thinking! Doesn't matter when you post to me, whenever you're ready. Normally takes a couple of extra days for things to get here anyway. Haven't worked out why, but posting to the Isle of Man and Ireland is quicker than posting to here!1st class is normally 2-3 days.

don't panic! If you go onto the Royal Mail site you can put the tracker number on the first page and it should tell you what they think they have done with it. Or you can call them. There's a number on the back of the receipt.

I sent a paperbag book kit from a swap off to Ireland and it hasn't turned up. Waiting to hear about that as that was first class too and last thing I sent to the same person got there in two days. It's been a week:(

I know you are all concerned because I have not been online - but I did have a wedding to organise and honeymoon to go on!
My son announced he was dropping out of college 8 days before the wedding and since I got back I have been all out trying to help my daughter sort out a flat in Amsterdam and get the removals done as well.
The CJs are well and I have one ready to post and one to do.
I can;t get online that often as I have been really busy and will be away for a week at the end of this month attending to my daughter as she is having a really nasty operation as well.
