HOORAY! THIS CJ IS NOW OFFICIALLY FULL!

AS REQUESTED BY SUZIE!
Right! I've created 2 groups - hopefully everyone who does (and doesn't) want to be together is in the right place and there is a good mix of themes as far as I have them.

Posting dates are as follows:

Every 3 weeks starting on:
24th April
15th May
5th June
26th June
17th July
7th August
28th August
18th September
9th October
30th October- home run.

As this runs through holiday periods, there may be posting dates you cannot make - please post on the thread AND pm the person you send to (and the person who sends to you) letting you know when you can post and accept the CJ. This way everyone knows what is happening.

If you have problems, please let me know and we can arrange to bypass you until things are sorted rather than have CJs stack up with one person. Again, this way things keep going without adding pressure to your difficulties.

So the groups are as follows:

Group 1:
FlossieD - Nursery Rhymes
Lellis - Flowers and Butterflies
SuzieR - A Day in the Life
yummymummy - about you
Mammyhen -
Marilyn -
peechy -
janeycutting - Mother Nature
Suzanne -
usmominuk - What makes me happy

Group 2
Ria979902 - Favourite Scrapbooking Things
Mafswife - Colour My World
Weezie - Thought for the Day
Indigoniki - My Retreat
Inspirespirit - Favourite Musicals
JakkiG - Lyrics from your Favourite Musical Song
Debbie70 - Love Quotes
AliTS - Au Naturel
Craftymum1971 - About You
lizh - nature trail or natural world

Hi everyone and thanks to Scrappybunny for starting us off.

As it says on the first post, any topic and you set your own rules for your CJ. The only plea I would have is that they are nice and light so we don't burden people with postage costs.

Evening, have just got in from work - woohoo I am on your list - do I need to PM you too or just confirm my place??

AliTS
05-04-2006, 11:59 PM
Hi there, thanks for all your pms etc. Themes are looking good.

Ria - I don't need to know the shape or size unless you want to share it, only that it is smallish (I would recommend a max of 8x8) and light. I've done CJs where you spend £3.50 on postage for a single CJ which I think is too much to ask people for so I just wanted it to be fair to all the participants really - that would be my only ask.

I'm updating the list now.

AliTS
06-04-2006, 03:26 PM
We have definitely one place left for Group 2 - I am still waiting on a couple of people to confirm, one of whom I know is on holiday.

Any takers?

mafswife
06-04-2006, 09:39 PM
OK, unless I can think of another theme in the next week or so, think I am going to go with favourite flowers - not sure what I am making mine from yet - not much help then am I?

weezie
06-04-2006, 10:06 PM
Mine is a 5 1/2" by 8" artists sketchbook. Not awfullly lightweight but I will be removing some of the pages as they're not all needed.

AJ
06-04-2006, 10:15 PM

Hi guys, have just signed up for this cj. Will be working out the finer points with ali and the group that I end up in. I will be in England through the beginning of the summer, and will at some point be moving to the US. What I will probably do is tip in (send pages to be stuck into the journal to the next person down teh line) to the cjs that I need to do after the move so that I dont hold things up with posting and so that cjs dont get lost in international waters! Hope that makes sense and is ok??
I am fairly new to doodling (well, as a kid I of course doodled instead of taking notes in school, but this isnt quite the same is it!)....so I am quite excited by this and hope to get lots of ideas! Must go and quickly think of a theme and start thinking about the journal itself! Eeek, 24th is quite soon!

Morning Maria - are we on a CJ together again??

looks like it:D, hoping to make a start this evening but Evie my little niece was taken into hospital again yesterday and is now on a drip and has a hole in one lung and a chest infection so here she is again fighting to get fit & healthy, luckily she's put on quite a bit of weight and at 4months is now 11lb so as the last time she was poorly she was only 4lb and managed to get better-fingers crossed she'll do it again,so off to see her tonight to give her lots of 'auntie ria' snuggles to make her all better:)
Hope all is well with you & yours:)
Hi to everyone else & Louise you didn't waste much time starting yours:) hope you enjoy it:)

I think my theme is going to be the wonder of nature, hope that is alright as it encompasses so much.
Haven't started my CJ yet but will be starting in the next week as I am on holiday

AliTS
07-04-2006, 06:57 PM
I've heard from everyone but one, and I know she is on holiday this week so I will wait until Sunday and then ask scrappy bunny to put up the new threads, get in contact with you and let you know who you are sending to etc.

Happy CJ making!

btw some people have asked to be put together so that they can hand deliver CJs to each other rather than post:
so far... FlossieD and Lellis, Craftymum1971 and lizh, jakkig and inspirespirit - anyone else before I split the groups?

Ria979902
07-04-2006, 07:15 PM

not that I don't want to be with her  but I've done a few CJs with Ally (Yummy Mummy) now and it would be great for both of us to be in different groups - that way we'll both see all members doodling!! Saying that is we are in the same group (happy to go with what is easiest Ali) can one of us post to the other?

Marilyn
07-04-2006, 10:19 PM

Mrs_Tiggy

Can I ask you guys a question even though I'm not taking part in this CJ? I was wondering what are the best pens to use for doodleing? Hope it's ok to post this in this thread.

AliTS
07-04-2006, 10:47 PM
~So am I splitting you two up Ann? and Ally!? (ducks)

Mrs Tiggy, I believe that any fine or medium tipped journalling pen is fine for doodling. Some people like the Sakura pens, glaze, jelly roll or souffle, white is good for dark paper.

Anyone else add anything - I'm a big doodler but mainly on telephone pads - so wouldn't put myself up as a scrapping doodle expert.

Marilyn - it's up to you if you want your CJ A/fL/f - if there aren't any photos in it, it really isn't necessary but totally up to your own choice - just put it in the instructions in your CJ.

I think it is general CJ etiquette not to smoke, eat/drink or let pets near other people's CJs. But again you can put a stipulation in your instructions if you want to reinforce the message. Hope that helps. :)

AJ

~So am I splitting you two up Ann? and Ally!? (ducks)

No i am only kidding with ann, it would be great to be in different groups so that we get to see everyones work from the two groups.:D

Mrs Tiggy - i use sakura jelly roll pens, they are lovely. i have also just bought some black berol italic pens to play with too

InspireSpirit

Im a non smoker and dont have any pets, but I dont worry too much about A/L free in my cj's, only my albums where I have piccies. If you do in yours, please say so in your introduction and i will make sure I do A/L free in yours.

Consider it done! Now all I have to do is decide which one of you I need to keep an eye on!

Not really, so far I have just put the groups in the order people have replied, I'll jiggle them to allow for people who want to be together or not and that will have to be it, seeing as I don't know many of you. I'm happy to be doing the CJ and hope that everyone will love their group and the themes they are working on.

Hello, just signing in here as I'm just back from holiday in Cornwall. Ali, I will pm you my details (if you haven't got them already!) when I get my head together! Haven't read through this thread but will do so!

AliTS
08-04-2006, 11:13 PM
Hi Suzie, glad you've found us - welcome! We are now officially 20 and I will ask scrappybunny to create Group 1 and 2 threads once I've updated the spreadsheet.

So, if I understand things, Sally (Inspirespirit) is doing Favourite Musicals, and Jakki is re-thinking? There is no hurry, I don't need a theme for us to get started - as long as you think of one before the posting date LOL

weezie
09-04-2006, 02:04 PM
Didn't get anything done on my cj yesterday like I wanted to. Max was really bad with his chicken pox friday night and I only got a couple of hours sleep as he would not let me put him down. I ended up sleeping with him in my arms. Saturday was a write off as he was the same. Atleast I could sit and watch QVC's craftday while he spent all day sleeping in my arms. poor little thing. Today he's back to his normal happy (althought spotty) self, but DH and I have got a bad cold. Not doing well are we?:)

I'm hoping to get some done today, but on Thurday my sister phoned to tell me she's 7 weeks pregnant so I've got to do a pregnancy journal for her.

AliTS
09-04-2006, 03:23 PM
Plenty of time yet - glad you got something out of the day - hope Max gets better really soon. My DD had chicken pox at 5 months - at least it gets it over with - then she had shingles at 2!!

weezie
09-04-2006, 03:41 PM
he's much better today, but I feel a true lack of inspiration

AliTS
09-04-2006, 04:15 PM

Group 1:
FlossieD - Wonder of Nature
Lellis - Flowers and Butterflies
SuzieR - A Day in the Life
yummymummy - about you
Mammyhen -
Marilyn -
peechy -
janeycutting - Mother Nature
Suzanne -
usmominuk - What makes me happy

Group 2
Ria979902 - Favourite Scrapbooking Things
Mafswife - Colour My World
Weezie - Thought for the Day
Indigoniki - My Retreat
Inspirespirit - Favourite Musicals
JakkiG - Lyrics from your Favourite Musical Song
Debbie70 - Love Quotes
AliTS - Au Naturel
Craftymum1971 - About You
lizh - nature trail or natural world

I will contact Scrappybunny now to get her to start the new threads. I will still be hosting Group 1 so if you have any problems do contact me and I'll be popping in to chat.

well basically after a bit of copying & pasting its as follows:

**~~~ Mardi Gras Mystery Mania ~~~**
You love a surprise don’t you?
And of course you want a challenge!
Old timers to the CyberCrops will remember this type of game. A mystery kit has been specially prepared by our Partying Sponsors, each Krewe has a different kit.
You may only buy the kit that has been made for your Krewe.
Kits are LIMITED in number so be quick if you want to be sure of reserving one.
THE CHALLENGE:
Is to create a LO or mini book with the contents of your package. We have a list of allowed items (see below) and you can ONLY use the kit contents plus allowed items.
You do not have to use everything in the kit, but you just can’t add anything.
Deadline for completion is Saturday April 22nd 10pm
Please upload to the MYSTERY MANIA folder in the Gallery (its not there yet but will be by the CyberCrop weekend)
This Challenge is worth 100 doubloons (points)
THE EXTRA ITEMS:
You can use the items in the kit, plus:
ADHESIVE
WHITE CARD OR VELLUM
COMPUTER PRINTING (as long as its onto something you got in the kit or one of your additional/basic items)
INKS, PAINTS and PENS/PENCILS
STAMPS (foam or rubber)
You may use your Sizzix, QK or CraftRobo to cut items that are IN the kit, (or on the extra list) but not other items.

I missed out on the kit last year cause i wasn't quick enough but got mine yesterday from jillybeans,so did my LO just now:)

Sorry for the intrusion, but Debbie has just given me a ring and her pc has a nasty virus on that is doing all sorts of things it shouldn't be. She has someone coming round tonight to have a look at it - but in the mean time will be offline.

She asked if you could pm me the address that she needs to be sending her cj to, and then I will ring her tonight.

Thanks :D
