Goodness - sorry not to have posted for a while but life has been beyond hectic. My Gran had a major stroke :( and then I had to go on a residential course, but I should be back on line now!

My title is now (for definite) going to be It's All In The Details - on one side what do you absolutely have to have right, down to the smallest detail? (I have to make sure that my shopping goes on the conveyor belt in a certain order otherwise I get very tense!)
The second side - or the first, whichever way you choose to do it, is what tiny little things give you pleasure? (Dew on spiderwebs, cute embroidery on a child's clothing, your pet's paws etc)

I hope this is ok for everyone. I'm at a crop this Sunday so will put the finishing touches to mine then. Will post up a piccie before then too when I get the chance to crowbar my OH off the main PC...

It'll be good to get going on this - I need something to get excited about! :)

Ive just ordered some paper for Edwina's CJ, so im already to go now! Only 10 5 days till posting! Im going to post mine on Sat as i know i wont make it to the post office in time on Monday. Who is doing the Mardi Gras cyber crop. I havent a clue what im doing but ive signed up anyway. Im sure it will be good fun.
Right then, im off to start a new project......

Sorry I haven't been about for ages - things got a bit chaotic with teething babies and being away.
Anyway, I'm almost ready, which is quite good for me! The journal is done, I'm just doing the last touches of my LO. I'll try and upload the cover later, but no laughing :o

I'm in the Conga Krewe as well, although I haven't had a chance to do more than glance in there yet. I'd like to do the cake swap and the bracelet swap, but I need to get this finished first.

Hi everybody

I posted my cj this afternoon. I've set it up like all my art journals. Its watercolour paper with the deckle edges still there. I really do want everybody to feel relaxed about working in it - I would rather it was enjoyed by all than it came back perfect!

I have participated in this sort of thing before, just not at ukscrappers, so I know how nerve wracking it is to work in someone elses book :D I just wanted to tell everybody not to worry and to feel free to experiment - you always do a better job than you think.;)

Im mad on Lush, Sam. We get the magazine delivered at work and i drool over it all day!!!! Last time i went i ended up spending £70 to DF's horror!! If you get the chance try the cupcake face mask, its chocolate and mint and smells devine and the softly massage bar as that is chocolate and honey.

Please do use LOTS of colour, and any technique you fancy. And if you use any of the recipes please let me know how it goes. Those are some of my specials that I take to bellydance parties, and I always refuse to give out the recipes...;) ;) The Aubergine one in particular always goes down well (and people refuse to believe whats in it...:P )

Well another bank hol is upon us, what are everyones plans. Im going to an Abbey for the day to get some pictures for the Myths and Legends cj, as there is a good story behind it.

I spent 2 hours in tesco's today trying to find a pressy for my nephew's first birthday, i never knew buying for children could be so hard. I got my shopping done as well so i can enjoy the bank holiday. We are hoping the weather is going to be nice so we can have a bbq on Sat, so fingers crossed for me.:)
I must of looked mad this morning at 7.30, camera in hand on the park taking pic's of the tiny ducklings. Oh well i got some cute pictures to scrap. Here's mummy duck and her gorgeous babies.

Crumbs! It creeps up on you doesn't it? I've got all my stuff ready to do the pages, just haven't had the time to sit and do it all yet! First week back at work with the little darlings and I'm done for. You'd think after a fortnight I'd get back into the habit of getting up at six quite soon but oh no! My body clock has other ideas... After a day with my class I'm ready for bed at eight at night! If all else fails I've a crop to go to next weekend!

OH no i cannot believe it has come around so fast. Ive done my sign in tag and the one of my pages, but the printer has packed up and ive got to wait till tuesday before i can use works printer to finish the second page. I think I may have a problem.

My MIL is in hospital and doesn't have long left. She lives in Sweden and I want to go over and say my goodbyes. I need to get an emergency baby passport first, then I can book my flights. So at the moment I know I'm going to be busy and may well be away for a bit, but I don't know quite when.

It's probably best not to post the next one to me until I know I'm in the country again, and I may or may not be able to get the current one done before I go.

I'm really sorry everyone. I hope this doesn't cause too many problems.

I have the afternoon off work tomorrow due to the school being used for a polling station and I have major plans afoot...

I'm going to be brave and completely spring clean my craft room and stash... I'm going to make a box of everything I know I won't use and bring it in to school for my class to get messy with. Then I will feel righteous and be able to sit down and scrap without feeling remotely guilty about the room hanging above my head. Literally if I scrap while watching TV!

Hi, I've received Edwina's cj from Micayla - it's lovely. What a beautiful cat you have Micayla :) I love cats, I just have to convince dh that he does too :lol:
So, I now have 2 cj's - Tullavilla and Cayliehotpants. I'll post Micayla's as soon as I've heard from Dawn (BagofScraps)

That was when my kitten was about 3 months old, she is nearly one now and only a tiny bit bigger. Thats why i changed her name to Diddy:lol: I just had to include that picture of her.

Sorry Lisa the Movie CJ arrived safe and sound - I've rung and checked now - but I hadn't been in school to see it!! So much for my fail safe delivery method.
As for your Myths and Legends - thinking I could ensure a monday posting - as I can't get away from school in time - I asked my sister to post it for me - I've just checked with her and it's still at the bottom of her bag. She sends her apologies too!

I'm experimenting with the hand-painted/arty route for the Edwina's Animal cj - it's "in development", so at some point, I may just grab some handy patterend paper ;)
I've always had a confidence-thing with "art", so I'm hoping doing the cj's will give me opportunity to jump in and try...maybe :D

I was told by an art teacher at school that I was useless at it, so didn't do anything for fifteen years or so until I decided to do City and Guilds Embroidery...

Silly me, expecting to be taught embroidery.:lol: For the first year we hardly ever picked up a needle - it was all how to design on paper.:wacko:

I found out 1. actually I'm pretty good at it, and 2. how to use and abuse just about any art medium going, and 3 (most important) to completely ignore rules!:lol: :lol:

If anyone has got a copy of True Colours (Somerset Studio), which is about a Journal Round robin, that's a very inspiring book indeed. I'd recommend it to anyone

If you get a good tutor it's exellent. The first thing you learn is how to use what skills you have, rather than expect you to become a whizz at drawing or similar. I know of one tutor who, when someone said they couldn't design, presented them with a couple of potatoes and a kitchen knife!:lol: Potato prints are about as basic as you get.;)

It certainly teaches you how to design and get inspiration from anything round you - and you're encouraged to keep a design file in the form of a decorated sketchbook/photo album/ sample book. I wish I'd known about scrapping when I was doing it.

WOO HOO, i have finally done it!!! I have just about finished my entry for Kae's cj. I have tried a new technique as well, stamping with bleach on fabric and i am pleased with the outcome!

It definitely went first class recorded delivery, in a nice NEW envie, as I ripped the old one. I am sure it will turn up. Don't they give you a phone number to check? I will check the slip and if it doesn't appear by the end of the week I will start sleuthing at my end.:)

You can track the package if it went recorded on the Royl Mail website, It will tell you if it's been delivered, you just need the number of the orange slip. :)

According to Royal Mails Tracker on their website, this parcel was delivered on 19 May from their Salisbury Depot. However it could not show me electronic proof of delivery (scanned barcode I presume)

If it has got lost in the system, my full return address was on the back of the envelope.:)

It has arrived safely and I hope to do it this weekend.

Things are not going well at the moment, which is why I haven't been on here. MIL has not improved and we're just waiting for a 'phone call. My baby has had a very high temp this week (103 at one point) and hasn't been sleeping at night (which means I haven't been either. The good news for me is that it's half term next week, so I won't have to go to work. Yippeeee!

I promise to be better at reporting on here in future. I feel very bad about how worried I've made people.

I didn't realise how nerve-racking this would be! I don't trust RM at the best of times - a few years ago I got really upset 'cos I thought my Dad had forgotten my birthday - no card or anything except when I spoke to him he was adamant that he had sent the card and even described it. Eight months later it turned up in the post - looking decidedly the worse for wear, covered in footprints and scuffed all over... :angry:
Guess it got dropped on the floor at the sorting office and kicked around under the counter or something.
I really hope it turns up - makes me feel like a long day trip to hand deliver. :D

Sorry I haven't had a chance to get online the past few days....a friend died on thursday eve then my mum got very sick on fri nite, so spent the wkend between hospital & funeral :(
Anyway just to let you know the Myths & Ledgends cj arrived safely on thursday.
